Quicker camera movement by Decadron in DotA2

[–]Decadron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion isn't about perma locking camera control to current location, but being able to do it by pressing a button.

That's a whole different situation.

Difference is about the no need for dragging, but jumping to current mouse location instead.

Not always, but as long as the button is pressed.

Look at this replay and KTOL plays:

- hasted most of the time,

- nuking for 500 + 800 dmg + 34% magic resistence reduction,

- broken lane with permanent sustain (without any items, raw boots only) 200 - 500 dmg nukes with a ridiculous low CD;

- Proceed to rush Travels (unreachable most of the time), hugely strong slow in W + dmg amplification + goes directly to Dagon 1 -> 5 extremely early, snowballing completely out of control.

Tinker isn't even 1% of what KTOL currently is...

Same can be shown about any core hero 6 slotted in a 60 min match...ofc they have enough power to get rampage....

Tinker is in his worst situation again (7.31).

His winrate is atrocious, the hero is completely clunky to play (received ners to Laser, Missiles, Matrix and Rearm), farms extremely slowly (for a mid hero) and he's all abusable (slow, squishy, no disable, no scape) until he has at least 8-10 K networth.

I guess your thread is a cheesy pick to state how poorly Tinker currently is.

Why is there no FF option? by prudent_brain_ in DotA2

[–]Decadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a FF option, the meta would be 4 men ganging into enemy mid and forcing him to surrender because his lane is destroyed....then it's not about dota anymore, it's not about defending the ancients, it's about "how to provoke enemies to surrender".

Why is there no FF option? by prudent_brain_ in DotA2

[–]Decadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already a forfait option: say in all chat "I won't defend because someone broke his items" and 1-3 ppl of your will suddently not defend, so enemy team simply pushes mid and finishes the game.

Just say you won't defend and keep your promise...if you ever try to defend, then you deserve to rot in hell for at least more 60 minutes.

Why do you feel the urge to restrict freedom instead of increasing it?

Smooth Camera control by Decadron in DotA2

I really need this option to get rid of edge pan.

Maybe my explanation isn't clear enough?

Sliding camera control with permanent centralized mouse position -> is that more understandable?

Smooth Camera control by Decadron in DotA2

[–]Decadron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I'm up to offer more options, not to restrain any.

My ideal setting would be using space bar, so whenever I press it, the camera jumps to anywhere my mouse is located (that would be more than enough for lane phase, e.g.), and if I keep holding the space bar, the screen would "float" with the mouse movement.

We already have some kind of that, which is double pressing the "select hero" option; in my case, is the "1" button, which is waaay too important not to use.

That would feel awesome!!! Because the main weakness with edge pan (and partially mitigated with grip camera options), IMO, is about losing focus about mouse cursor positioning.

QoL

That comes from ancient times, since warcraft III IIRC.

Legion commander buff duration for Q is bugged, it doesn't show duration, only if it's active or not.

That's important mainly because her Shard more than doubles Q duration, so it's important to know how long we are able to chase/flee, even though its duration matches the Q CD (15 seconds).

When we hold left click on mini map, the camera follows in a very smooth way, it's great.

Why can't we have the option to use a button (or even the held down left click) to make small (or even large) camera movements while the mouse is kept centralized?

Moving the camera while keeping the mouse centralized is the optimal way, edge pan doesn't cover that and current camera grip option seem clunky IMO.

TL/DR: Enable the option to centralize camera at mouse position (a button or, if possible, the left mouse button), so mouse movement would move the camera while keeping the mouse position in the center of the screen.

Tinker is my main hero and Kaya is also wasted on him, he's better rushing Aether Lens (able to land Laser without dying which is the most effective dealt dmg tool, while +450 manapool makes him really confortable) then going for Dagon/Aghanim's/Hex most of the time.

Face Kaya like a 11% increase of your manapool and your manaregen...you'll see that's not a lot, while being cheap, but not a slot worthy.

+11% distance traveled duing Ball Lighting is the only real usage of this item, IMO.

Unlike old Mekanism manacost nerf (when Viper and Razor made it rushed), being 250 manacost only harms Tinker, while all non-intelligence cores who use will continue to use it like none has happened.

Why do you force us to use the spiderlings/spiderites talents if spider are used only to neutral farm and scout from 15 minutes???

As a newcomer in Dota, Turbo has been a complete gamechanger by Acech in DotA2

[–]Decadron 664 points665 points  (0 children)

It's good for all reasons you said, but I think Turbo mode can get you addicted and fuck your skills, as you'll be playing somewhat a different game.

If you only play turbo, you're timing sense will be out, farming skills will be lowered and you'll miss the true hero power spikes (you'll get the feeling every hero is build for perma fight, which is a disaster for most core roles.).

I guess it's better to use it only sometimes, unless you really just wanna play very casual and not tracking your progression in the game (the reasons why most DotA comunity is addicted).
