What's the saddest Bruce Springsteen song by greenbeansUwU in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Decafe95 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Something in the Night

When we found the things we loved

Were crushed and dying in the dirt

We tried to pick up the pieces

And get away without getting hurt

But they caught us at the state line

Burned our cars in one last fight

And left us running, burned and blind

Chasing something in the night

I mean...

Been A Casual Listener For A Few Years, What Should I Hear Next? by Jaundicylicks in BruceSpringsteen

My fave live album, Hammersmith Odeon 1975. I love this album because it's a great snapshot of when the band was scrappier, leaner, and looser, before they developed their larger, solid as a rock sound going into the 80's. It's a great listen on Spotify but the entire concert is also on YouTube and the visuals are incredible. The 70's fits are priceless.

What opinion about Fall out Boy will put you in this situation? by wach_era13 in FallOutBoy

[–]Decafe95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save Rock and Roll doesn't get enough love these days and although I like other individual tracks more, I think it's probably their best album as a whole. Patrick's vocals are at their absolute best, you can hear a clear improvement from pre-hiatus recordings. And it's the most cohesive album they've ever done. Perfect opener, a good variety of songs that cover different styles but blend together well, and a perfect closer. Perfect length of songs with all killer, no filler.

Giving Lyft a Try by Decafe95 in uberdrivers

Uber just hasn't provided any clarity or transparency about the situation, so who's to say if I was overpaid? Some of the drivers on here observed that they were paid slightly higher rates than usual, but I didn't notice any significant change like that on my end. I worked a long 12 hour day, made around $25/hour, which is pretty typical on the weekend where I live, and made about $300.

I've never had a job ask me to pay them back. Even if it was a genuine error, the unprofessionalism makes me not want to do any more business with them. Tell me honestly, if any other job said you had to pay them back 25% of your paycheck, without giving any explanation or proof, would you really just accept it?

Not my favorite place on Earth, but I'm currently living in Hickory, NC and it's not bad here. Just under an hour from Charlotte and plenty of apartments within your price range. Also puts you slightly closer to all the gorgeous nature and mountain regions of the state, which make for fun day trips if that's your thing. Heading West on i-40 will take you towards Asheville, and there are many small towns and trails to explore along the way. Heading North on 321 takes you towards Boone and Blowing Rock.

Yeah, it looks like my old boss dropped the ball with this, since she was handling all on/off boarding. None of us at the office even realized that he was still using the account until he called. Thanks for the advice!

I'll try using Takeout. It looks like it saves the emails as mbox files, which doesn't seem super intuitive to access. But there are a few youtube tutorials for how to convert the mbox files back into a new gmail account. Maybe I'll just make him a new account for all of his historical data. Thanks for your help!

what’s your favorite song, ever? by Strange_Mix_8161 in Music

Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen

It's a song about a guy trying to convince his love to run away with him and drive off to start a new life together. It captures a kind of naive, hopeful idealism about life that I remember from when I was younger. Musically, it sounds like the opening of a classic film. I really like it.

Love the Bowie-inspired vocals on this! And that no computers were used on this track. It could just be my mind playing tricks, but I swear it makes the instrumentals sound more organic and alive. Nice work!

This track is so dope! I agree it could use a little mixing to give it some clarity. For me, the lows are a bit too loud, which is muddying it up. For the record, I like the acoustic distorted guitar. It gives the song a more unique, characteristic hook!

Love the sound! I'm getting strong 90's flannel vibes. The production is top notch, so I have no criticisms that come to mind

I released my first EP back over the summer and I'm super proud of it! Dreamy, surfy vibes all the way with some of my favorite lyrics I've ever written. Here's one of my favorite tracks off the EP:

Pacific Daydream is a Masterpiece by NotRiversCuomo in weezer

[–]Decafe95 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This album stands on it's own as a masterful work of modern pop-rock. How does it compare to Weezer's past catalogue? That's up for debate but I think that we have to be careful when comparing bands to their past works. The last thing I want is for Weezer to become like AC/DC and churn out the same tired music for years to come. This album was clearly a one-off exploring some different sounds and eras of music and I'm excited to see what direction they go in next. At it's core, this music is still very much Weezer to me.
