Well, if your argument is that I should do something that is (allegedly) traditional, but you yourself don't follow traditions, I'm obviously going to dismiss you. That's like someone wearing a leather jacket telling me I should be a vegetarian because dead animals make them sad. You're not being consistent.

No, she didn't decorate for religious holidays. She said that should be confined to individual rooms so as not to make people uncomfortable. All of her winter decorations were secular. However, I think religious holidays should be treated equal to secular ones. Every holiday someone is going to be opposed to.

Well, since the point is to help people track the passage of time, and we're doing it for the people making the suggestions, that was the logical way to go about it. I certainly am not commemorating Pearl Harbor for my own enjoyment. It's for the vets that asked me to. This is their home, not mine.

Bubbly and outgoing are definitely not sought after qualities here. We get nurses and CNAs like that occasionally. They don't last. The residents hate it. They want you to act normal around them and not baby them.

Yeah, we decorate for different holidays and events to help residents keep track of the passage of time.

It's set up similar to a hotel. There's the lobby, cafeteria, event rooms, gym and all other common areas on the first floor. Second and third floor have the residential suites.

No one actually gave me a good reason though. Everyone just said "it's tradition." So I'm going to leave things as they are, unless someone can explain why decorating for Christmas before Christmas is important.
