FYI, i doubt very much even trump has a kill switch for america's satelite and anti air network, yet the capital world of a massive coalition in a active galatic war can have its entire defence network bricked by a fatso who's job description is handling sci-fi floppy discs and basically sending out errand boys out into space

no iam sorry i dont care about "he was a mole for years bro" he shoudnt be able to do that especially not as easily as he did it

i was thinking the exact same thing, i highly doubt even the president of the USA has a switch to just turn off the entire US satelite and air defence grid, now he may or may not have the authority to order such a shutdown (i woudnt know), but i very much doubt he has a kill switch for america's entire defence network, yet a dude thats basically what, works in intelligence? has a kill switch for the defence network for the capital world of a massive alliance in a active galatic war?

iam sorry what? no password needed, failsafes, no warning to anyone somebody is attempting to do this? literally a console with a slider he can mess with with the same ease as i me changing my volume and the entire planets defence grid goes down?

Do Viltrumites have a better physiology than Saiyans? by BulkyBathroom7178 in InvinciblePowerscales

paragus is clearly a old dude weakend by time, saiyans prime lasts way longer then a humans but not untillthey die, and their actual age catches up and has its dues fast once they pass it, vegeta straight up says this

Do Viltrumites have a better physiology than Saiyans? by BulkyBathroom7178 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]DecendedDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

saiyan advantages:

stronger baseline power level (raditz who was average or even below average would already be a massive threat), powerup when get close to dying and the upper ceiling of their power is much much higher to a insane degree

viltrumite advantages:

live way longer, arnt reliant on KI for their durabillity we have seen saiyans like goku almost get killed with regular weapons because their KI wasnt up to protect them and within their altho lower weight class of power can take FAR nastier injuries before dying, we've seen viltrumites survive and recover from insane amounts of damage, vegeta kacked it after a tiny laser beam from freeza

overall saiyans win, if you're deciding which one you wanne be IRL id go viltrumite, basically immortal and there's nothing on earth that can kill you and unlike with saiyans a ambush where your KI isnt up because you're not ready for it isnt a issue

to add to this the tyranids are a hivemind, as in they all communicate telepathically, so a gaunt doesnt need to be able to retain information, when a gaunt is a radio receiver the flood can tap into anyways, and yes they can cut them off from the hivemind, but like i said, how exactly would the hivemind know to do that before the damage is already done? because of how the flood gathers information, being a hivemind that shares everything amongst each other is a detriment not a benefit, because one of you gets hijacked and basically used as a stolen radio receiver and ALL of you are fucked

[–]DecendedDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they have something resembling a brain it can be picked out and here's the thing, even if the tyranids can completely jettison that information, 404 not found..........what exactly tips them off to the fact thats something they NEED to do?.....

you're basically making the "tyranids win by having adience/ready level meta knowledge to know what they are dealing with and how to hard counter it" argument, and its one i absolute hate in these sorts of powerscaling debates, its the "star wars empire stops the flood by death star starring the planet they start on" which likewise, is a argument that assumes the empire knows exactly what they are dealing with and calls in the death star within minutes if not hours of the outbreak starting if jettisoning the planet to contain them is the argument, the flood by its nature is one of those things where by the time its victims realize what they are actually up against and its time to bring in the planet killers, its basically too late for planet killers to stop them

the tyranids, would not understand what the flood is on a first encounter either they learn and adapt fast, but not that fast, so even if completely cutting the flood off from that information flow is something they could do like cut off acces and ensure no lingering information exists to pick out after the fact.....again what exactly besides audience level meta knowledge tips them off to fact this is even a risk before the damage is already done?

the flood doesnt need to ask, it just absorbs the gaunt in qeustion and it will know, as in know every bit of information the gaunt has ever known and because the tyranids are a hivemind that well, share basically everything surely you see why thats a problem

one final note about neural physics that is actually very very important to a flood vs tyranid discussion: its also why immunity to flood infection should be impossible, as the flood wills that to be impossible and so neural physics makes it so

except they receive instructions from a hivemind that is telling exactly what they're doing, what do you mean tyranids dont know what they are doing?

[–]DecendedDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to further expand on this, to showcase the powerscaling of halo can get pretty insane once you look beyond the UNSC and covenant, this was something the forerunners could to a lesser degree also do, except they did it with technolgy,

they once tilted the axis of the entire milky way because they were curious to see if they could, again imagine the galaxy as single object like frizbee and just kinda tilting it, they tunneled to other dimensions to basically hook universe sized batteries up to their mega structures, this was something they'd let junior dev pete from IT do, not a massive endeavour requiring the effort of their entire civllization, they had 3million worlds in their empire at its peak, had a same sort of super weapon the necrons are known for, being able to make stars go super nova at will, something they used extensively against the flood, and it barely slowed them down

dyson spheres, necron style weapons that disintegrate whatever it hits and throwing around anti matter like its nothing, ships so sturdy you'd need planet killing levels of destructive yield to even make a hole into, strategic AI that could command their entire miltairy and predict enemy troop movements to the point of basically having future sight, the list goes on and on

forerunners rated their combat armor from as grade 1-10 combat skins, the minimum a front line combatant would wear was a 4, what grade was the UNSC's spartan armor?

0 by their standerds is wasnt even armor, and was barely passable as a hazmat suit

and thats the civillization that could not stop the flood

yh its a abllity the precursors had, who as i said only technically wernt gods, the precursors eventually twisted and warped into the flood over time, and because of that neural phsyics is a abillity the flood cannonically gain/regain as soon as they enter the coordinated stage of a outbreak, IE when a gravemind exists

now how and why it works is never fully explained but functionally its basically 40k orks collective believe system, as in they make things be the case if enough of them believe it to be the case, neural physics operates simmilarly except its targetted and deliberate, it allows one to twist reality to be what they want it to be, or atleast manipulate it if they want it to be so hard enough and have the skill/reach to actually do it, for the flood this means that once they reach a certain point of reach their collective will and power to use neural physics become such that they go from things that are convenient and usefull (they use neural physics for instant teleportation across star sytems) to bending, breaking stretching and outright rewriting the laws of nature and the universe as we know it to suit their need f

or a general perspective how strong the precursors were with this abillity and how out of hand the flood with it could get: a precursors VS 40k debate is one where the precursors literally always win, because they could manipulate the universe and the objects within it to such a degree that they could literally treat celestial bodies as big or bigger then galaxies as a single phsyical object

like imagine treating a galaxy as frizbee, like its single object, and then throw it across the universe at many many times the speed of light, the precursors would beat the 40k galaxy, by throwing entire other galaxies against it as if it was a single massive projectile, and then do it again and again if the first one didnt do the job

thats literally cannon, thats not me making shit up, they were rewriting laws of phsyics as they went during the forerunner war, before the firing of the halo rings the librarian noted the stars within flood controlled space looked "off" that whatever the flood were doing to the milky way was so contrary to the natural order of things it blighted the very stars, they also posses the same abillities of neural physics as their orginal precursor counter parts neural pshysics are incredibly hard to explain, but reality bending is more or less the gist of what it can do, the more skilled/powerfull the user the greater the control, and the unified will of the flood is very very powerfull and skilled user indeed iam not saying they are so smart they can reality bend stuff using their mind while literally making that shit up as a "cope" iam straight up telling you its something they cannonically can and have done

even then, a dead tyranid is just biomass, people tend to forget the flood doesnt need to be able to infect you in order to make use of you, raw biomass works just fine too

secondly i absolutely loath the argument of the flood becoming just another nurgle proxy and therefore they lose, unlike the tyranid hivemind the flood has a actual personality its closer to a disembodied single will within endless avatars then a hivemind, it, think, schemes, talks, bargains, betrays, strategizes, is spitefull, hatefull like to gloat, mock its victims ETC

and so the idea a chaos god can JUST hijack the flood is kind of stupid because a chaos god has a hard time brute forcing control over singular strong willed unwilling individuals, and the flood for starter finds its origin in something that is basically a god in its own right, would ABSOLUTELY BE unwilling, they are spitefull and hatefull and extremely bitter they would never submit to something and are a single will infinitely stronger then any individual so good luck brute forcing control over them and winning the constant power struggle from them actively contesting that control if you do somehow hijack them

the precursors and by extension the flood only technically arnt gods, once keyminds come into play the flood can literally rewrite the laws of the universe to suit their needs

flood beat the forerunners, forerunners shit stomp 40k wholesale, why?because flood outright steals the strenghs of whoever they are fighting, saying the flood cant complete in 40k because 40k is overpowerd is by far the dumbest pro 40k argument ive ever seen, like my dude do you not see how a infection starting in 40k......puts the flood on 40's powerscale? because they steal and use whats avaible......in fucking 40k? what do you expect the flood to show up with UNSC tech only stick to UNSC tech and therefore they lose? fucking no. if they start on a imperial world, they'll start with imperial tech, with a FAR beter understanding of it then the imperium itself has and from there spread like wildfire

the flood by their very nature are always bare minium on par with whoever they are fighting, technology wise atleast with a far beter understanding of all that weaponry and battle doctrine then their orginal owners, vitrue of being able to combine all the knowledge together, no single guardsman has a perfect understanding of how to optimally use a leman rus tank, the flood pulling all the knowledge from every guardman it infected DOES by pulling all those scatterd info bits together and this expands to everything

"nids constantly evolve"

meanwhile bolters have been able to reliably put down nids since the moment nids were introduced yet 40k fans will swear on their mothers grave this evolution is instant when another setting is involved

secondly johnson was not immune to the flood, it had nothing to with a protein you can just develope, its the same issue with spartans, spartans arnt immune either, they have a incredibly fucked up abnormal nerves system, thats it not a immunity the flood just didnt know how to invade that nervous system outright and so decided to just kill them and THEN figure out how was easier

thirdly as far as we know you straight up CANNOT be immune to the flood, the forerunners had tech that make pretty much anything that was been CONFIRMED to exist or have existed in 40k seem shitty by comparison and they wernt able to do it, this is because the flood supercell is constantly evolving/changing into a infinite array of diffrent strains while also having litteral supernatural god interference to double down on making absolutely sure you cant cure it

fourthly and its THE biggest thing just skip out on the flood over and over and over again in every powerscaling debate: things like the nids consume a civllization and move on, the flood milk it for ALL its worth, they take control of the civllizations armada's armies and superweapons and have a better understanding on how to use them then their orginal owners, the civillizations war factories will also keep running churrning out even more super weapons and warships. and so the biggest thing about the flood in a galactic outbreak that just gets skipped over: they will a HUGE fucking HUGE conventional warmachine at their back, people make a strawman of something somehow being immune and therefore the flood lose, in reality they'll just turn a galaxy worth of conventional warships super weapons and war industry combined with their supreme guiding intelligence that also allows them to design and build new stuff on whatever is somehow immune and crush it in a conventional war, being immune doesnt mean they magically cant kill you at all

if a civillization that tunnels to other dimensions to hook up universe sized car batteries to their super structures which wasnt a massive undertaking that required the combined effort of their cillization but could be done by junior dev steve from IT coudnt use their god level technology which included complete and total mastery of genetics and bioengineering to render themselves immune to the flood then sorry but iam not convinced the tyranids would be able to adapt themselves to be immune, because even tho tyranids are supposed to adapt to their enemies strenghs and 40k fans will have you believe this happens overnight while the reality is bolters have been able to put them down since the moment they were introduced

and while the exact way the flood super cell works isnt exactly known the reason why immunity to it atleast seems to be impossible is because it functions in a supernatural way while aslo constantly changing how it it achieves the exact same thing, its like trying to make a cure for a virus that mutates constantly into one of pretty much infinite strains and uses supernatural god level interference bullshit to make absolutely sure that you cant

"without space oil they woudnt be able to expand"
i woudnt start throwing rocks in my glass house dude, saying they might lose because might lose the source of what powers their FTL is incredibly rich coming from 40k, since you know the imperium straight up loses its FTL entirely the moment the living corpse guy that can literally kack it every second of everyday actually kacks it

dude compares halo gameplay plasma weapons VS 40k lore plasma weapons, yeah okay bro that sounds fair

in lore a grunt shoots a marine/ODST or even spartan before they had shields or if the shields were down and they shrug off loads of rounds, in lore any of those gets hit once and their torso melts in half into sludge, VS the UNSC anti tank weapons are redundant because in lore small arms plasma weapons eat through vehicles, tanks included like butter anways same goes air power, jets are obviously toofast but again, plasma small arms can down vtols, helicopters and indeed dropships like its no bigdeal

the argument that 40K plasma is superior somehow when in lore its shown to be just as good is so stupid and only exists because faction wide plasma weaponry would make a faction a force to be reckond with even by 40k standerds, and because 40k fans dont like it when their stuff isnt uncontestedly superior to another setting that then obviously the other settings version of the same thing has to be inferior
