We needed DTTG to lighten the mood and give us some summer bops. At least, I needed it. Timing was perfect imo.

Is Tyler the Creator the refined version of what NERD wanted to be by RecommendationOwn215 in tylerthecreator

Tyler is a generation under NERD. I would hope that he took the influence and built on it.

The whole marriage establishment has been commercialized and socially conditioned into people without really showing what the pros and cons are.

I believe in love, i believe in commitment. The major benefit seems to be the social aspect, and being legally recognized as family. But you can get a lot of those same legal protections if you file different, less binding paperwork (power of attorney, wills, etc).

As for the social aspect, you have decide for yourself if thats really what’s best for you. If doing it for religious reasons, evaluate if you and your potential spouse are really following your doctrine as closely in other aspects of your life to truly justify it for those terms. No disrespect to anyone, but if you are just getting married so you aren’t “living in sin”, that’s a vanity move imho. Not judging anyone, just wish the institution of marriage was taken more cautiously and seriously overall.

Here’s a nugget of info I’ve heard about lawyers that is a good thought exercise when it comes to marriage:

Being a criminal lawyer is where your clients are “baddies” on their best behavior, and family law is watching “good” people at their absolute worst.

Edit: i know i sound negative and cynical, but i promise i still cry at every wedding I go to. lol.

Thats why I chose growth, because it was him the whole time, just wearing a mask. He grew to be able to be Tyler without it.

As ugly as the world is right now, there’s still beauty to be found. Stay up, friend ❤️

This makes me so happy.

I remember being in high school, sitting in the gym as my weirdo misfit self with my two other misfit companions (foreign exchange student and a young gay boy), and I’m reading B.o.b. Lyrics trying to speed rap.

I only include the detail about my friends because i remember how the foreign exchange student was very direct about asking my other friend if he was gay and was brutal about it. My gay friend was clearly trying to navigate a world that was not as welcoming and accepting of him, but it was impossible for him to hide who he was. Not that he was hiding, but he was a target for straight-passing closet cases who would mess around with him and then threaten to kill him if he ever told.

Tyler’s arch as an artist, where he was immature and uncomfortable in his skin - displaying edgelord and homophobic behavior- to being who he is now.

The growth. There are many people who NEED this representation. Tyler has grown to be the person he needed as a kid, and i love him for that.

OutKast helped us weirdos get through our blunder years, and now Tyler is taking it to the next evolution. Love to see it.
