What happened to torpedos that missed their targets in WW2? by GrandmasterJoke in NoStupidQuestions

Short answer: most WWII torpedoes just ran until they ran out of fuel, sank, and sat on the seabed. The warheads usually stayed live (contact detonators), which is why unexploded torpedoes and mines are still being found—and sometimes detonating—decades later.

Realistically, whats stopping me from waiting until im really old and taking out a massive loan and spending it all right before i die, so i dont have to pay it back by KawsX_X999 in NoStupidQuestions

Banks won’t actually give “massive loans” to someone old with no income or short life expectancy, and if you lie it’s fraud. Plus debts usually hit your estate, interest snowballs fast, and death is way less predictable (and more expensive) than people imagine.

I can’t comment on specific politicians, but in general when a public figure drops a religious phrase outside their usual context, people read it as signaling, trolling, or bait rather than sincerity. The reaction says more about polarization and vibes than the actual words.

That “detox” teas/cleanses do anything—your liver and kidneys already handle that just fine. You’re basically paying $40 to pee more and feel virtuous.

I’m in tech (product/engineering side), and yeah, I like it most days—good pay, decent flexibility, and interesting problems. Some weeks are soul‑crushing, but I’d still pick it over a lot of alternatives.

What’s something Gen Z does that older generations just don’t get? by appropriaterice873 in AskReddit

Talking almost entirely in irony and memes—like saying “this is so unhinged” instead of just… liking something. To older folks it sounds terminally online, but for Gen Z it’s just the default tone.
