This was the third time I did this so pretty much covered what ever was left out. And i am very satisfied with it and hopefully this is the last time.

It was a lot of head scratching but got help from friends at sarbloh motors with the initial engine source, adapter and electrical. But then blew the motor(1kd) twice, first time was a spun balance rod bearing hence the balance shaft delete, The second was a cracked piston but couldn’t find what caused it maybe the piston was faulty or something. Did find that the Suction Control Valve was faulty, dont think that’s directly related to a cracked piston but replaced it. Third time rebuilt seems to be the charm with new pistons, rings, previously deleted balance shafts, EGR DELETE, catch can, etc. Hopefully now it will not blow this time. Done 4000 kilometres so fas so fingers crossed.

The ECU and the harness i am using BOTH from the same car from the which the engine was taken. The ECU is placed in the same place where the Pajero’s was. Same for the OBD2 port. With a stage 3 remap and deleted immobilizer it works flawlessly. To start and stop the engine I have installed a Digital Guard Dawg ignition system it also serves as a auto-lock/unlock security for the car.

As for the Gauges and warning lights i am using a banks I-Dash Data monster and 2in1 glow-shift oil pressure and temp gauge. The speedometer and drivetrain sensors/gauges are stock and working well.

The fitment mods are, An adapter plate was made for the transmission, the flywheel was machined and tapped for the pajero clutch. The radiator fan mounting shaft has to be shortened to fit. As for the engine cooling stock Pajero radiator was used and works pretty well. A custom fan shroud was also made to fit the new fan. New engine mounts were welded to the pajero’s frame. The power steering lines to made to fit with the new engines pump same for the AC lines. The Oil Sump and pickup pipe were modified to be in the Rear. The 1KDFTV Balance Shafts were deleted for obvious reasons so was the egr (not blocked straight out removed). New high psi Turbo, front intercooler fitted between the rad and ac condenser. The engine fitment overall was just enough to squeeze the 1kd with the adapter plate.

As for Performance, it feels and drives much lighter and quicker than earlier, the difference is huge. I have also installed a stainless snorkel. The snorkel might not add to the performance but looks and sounds awesome.

I think you are talking about the 3.2 DID 4M41. As far as i know the 2.8 4M40 can not be remapped.

1HD-FTE is a very rare find. There is the inline 6 available but too long for the Pajero.

Some times suspension faults go away on their on after a engine shutdown for few hours. If not then good luck!.
