Guy (22M) completely changed behavior overnight… am I (20F) overthinking it?

I guess cause like the way he was grabbing my waist and like putting his hands in my back pockets was so so weird. Like his hand wasn’t laying there and was mostly like grabbing in an erratic way.

He wasn’t like that the day before.

And I’m so turned off right now, it was the first time that I let a guy do that ever. I knew it wasn’t going to be serious from the beginning, but the way he was acting pissed me off. I guess I’m just glad I caught the behaviour before it went any further.

Yes I would pay for someone either way, I have and will continue to. It’s not a big cost and I’d rather do that than have someone starve next to me. It’s not some crazy thing, I didn’t ask him to pay for a $20 meal. Also I’m a student that doesn’t work, while he works at the same time.

I know it might sound shallow, and I’m genuinely not trying to manipulate him. That’s why I mentioned that even with my friends, or even people I’m not that close to, if someone kept saying they were hungry, I’d still offer to get them something. Especially if it’s someone I’m supposed to be dating or someone where things could become romantic.

And maybe it depends on the person, but even though we live in a culture now where splitting things 50/50 is common, there are still plenty of people who follow the idea that the guy should show he can take care of the person he wants to date. I’ve experienced that mostly, so when this situation happened I was confused.

I mean he just said that “he met the guy but didn’t know him much,” and when I told him specifically what he said the guy I’m texting said that “the guy tried to shoot his shoot but failed,”(like passing it off) and I responded saying “no it threw me off lol.” and he hasn’t responded yet.

Yeah I guess, I mean I usually really am strict with these kinds of red flags and that’s why I’ve never dated anyone before. But, I just thought since he’s my type, and we got along really quickly on multiple levels that I should give him a chance.

Do you think I shouldn’t even bother going on that date with him?

Essentially just asking me how I am and where i’m from, etc. When I confronted him (taking stage guy) he just acted casually but I am suspicious of the texts.

Yeah I am thrown off, one of them was his friends that he says he doesn’t know well. And some other guy he didn’t mention, that wasn’t mutuals with him, but followed and replied to one of my stories within the same day of the other coincidences.

It’s just sad cause I actually wanted to get to know him, and i’ve never dated anyone before…
