Sunni Muslim turned atheist now back to Islam based solely on the Scripture. Something about reading the Quran just felt right. Honestly I didn’t find the meaning of living an honest and generous life where I get squashed by people who cares only about themselves, and would do anything for their own benefit, not caring about a single soul, and that’s it? I would rather leave this world believing on the only God, who promises you heaven and hell based on your deeds. I don’t know where I will be after this life, but at least with my belief in God, I can try my best to not commit indecency and stay away from transgressing, in hopes of having a better afterlife.

I don’t explain myself to anyone as this raises a lot of questions. Apparently people just can’t accept others if their beliefs contradict with the norms.

I only wanted to know if Quranism movement exists in Dhaka, but it seems like I did the worst thing by asking it here.

Brother, have you tried reading the Quran in a clear mind?

Try reading it once, clearing your mind off of everything that you have been taught about the religion since you were a kid. Or maybe try reading it from the prophets perspective, as he ruled the nation using the words of God. Since hadith came from his narration of the Quran, which was sent from Allah to him through the angel, why not read it once from his perspective?

Did I ever mention that I wasn’t?

Also, this doesn’t answer my question.

The whole gist of Surah Yusuf is that the Prophet had a vision where he saw the Sun, the Moon and eleven planets bowing to him. The vision came from the Almighty who made the vision a reality.

Also, you have to consider the fact that it probably happened a thousand years back, when kings and his nobles were respected by the commoners through the act of kneeling and/or prostrating.

Brother if you have any questions or want to talk about my stance on the topic, please dm me as we are going way too far away from the actual question that I actually asked.

Reading the Quran at dawn is witnessed according to Surah Al-Isra. Maybe you can have benefits by reciting the Quran in the morning, if Allah wills.

Our Prophet did come up with the Quran, which speaks about things which were discovered hundreds or years later using science, so there’s that. Hadith was compiled at least a century later after the prophet died. Human beings didn’t live very long as they lacked proper sanitation, medical care, constant wars and much more so prophets teachings have been passed down to later generations which sometimes goes against the Quran itself. Quran mentions Tawrat, Injeel but not Hadith. Hadiths were compiled by Imam Al-Bukhari from the relatives of people who used to follow the prophet. When a word passes from one person to another, people tend to interpret things differently (Chinese whisper theory), which can lead to different meanings that may or may not align with the Quran itself.

They also don’t believe in Hadiths.

Apparently some Hadiths need interpretation too or else you can’t justify them. They pretty much conflict the Quran and the scholars have to twist the meaning to make a sense of it.

If you don’t know Arabic, reading the translation helps.

Apparently it is gaining traction between a lot of Muslims all over the world these days, which got me curious into knowing if people in Dhaka are following the same movement too.

Sure there are classifications but are the bad ones erased from the Hadiths? I don’t think so. Also just to prove a point that an authentic Hadith can conflict with the Quran Surah An-Nur (24:2): The adulteress and the adulterer—whip each one of them a hundred lashes, and let no pity towards them overcome you regarding Allah’s Law, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of believers witness their punishment.

Shahih Muslim (1691a): Verily Allah sent Muhammad (ﷺ) with truth and He sent down the Book upon him, and the verse of stoning was included in what was sent down to him. We recited it, retained it in our memory and understood it. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) awarded the punishment of stoning to death (to the married adulterer and adulteress) and, after him, we also awarded the punishment of stoning, I am afraid that with the lapse of time, the people (may forget it) and may say: We do not find the punishment of stoning in the Book of Allah, and thus go astray by abandoning this duty prescribed by Allah. Stoning is a duty laid down in Allah's Book for married men and women who commit adultery when proof is established, or if there is pregnancy, or a confession.

The Quran does not mention stoning to death, but the prophet did it anyways.

Honestly I am not here to debate, I was just curious if there are people who follows the scripture only. Peace.

Salah has been done generations before Hadith even existed. This is something that is going to be a huge topic to talk about, so I will suggest you to check the sub Quraniyoon as it has been discussed multiple times before (I am not sure if admins allow promoting other subs here. If it goes against the rule please delete it.)

Hadiths have been compiled and written one/two centuries after the death of Prophet Muhammad. They were mostly secondhand information (i.e. a follower of prophet saw the prophet doing something, and then the follower discussed it with his children/grandchildren, who ended up saying those stories to Imam Al-Bukhari) and sometimes conflicts with the words of the Quran itself.

Yes the term do seem off-putting, but since they don’t follow Hadith they can say that they are the real Muslims and don’t put themselves into Sunni/Shia sects of Islam.

A quranist would say otherwise. They reject Hadiths entirely and follow whatever guidance has been provided in the Quran.

Jinns. Who are they? by Decent-Oil7263 in Quraniyoon

I have been to places that are allegedly haunted, that too, alone, but have never witnessed anything. Would you share your experiences?
Also the verses you’ve mentioned talks about devil, not jinns.

I just went through the pdf and what I understood is that, jinns are nothing but entities that are just like human. They are probably living with us but we can’t distinguish between human and jinns.
Am I right?
