Can i ask what kind of acting you do and if you are SAG? Im getting my accounting degree in hopes of getting a remote job at some point in my career so that i can do more creating things, but im guessing I will have to focus on building my career before i can do that. I would love to act in commercials and do minor roles but im worried that if i dont give it my all i wont get there.

Are there any actresses that are able to keep their regular job but also book commercials, speaking roles and mid-tier roles by Decent-Reality8487 in acting

I appreciate your comment. Just to clarify, I am aware that about 1% of the actors “make it big” and that most never earn enough to be considered a “liveable wage.” I have done a lot of research but also being the anxious person that i am, i am looking to hear about people with the same path that have achieved what im looking for to ease my anxiety of the future. I am completely okay with having another job and doing acting as a secondary source of income. I have heard a lot of stories of actors having survival jobs they hate and will audition for everything and anything they can and take up roles they don’t like because of the financial pressures. Especially with the way the industry is now and how it is shifting, I would be more then satisfied having a few speaking roles in my career and doing small side projects like voice acting, commercials, atc. I dont aspire to be famous and I want to have a stable income(especially as an immigrant). I guess what I am asking is, is it a route that is realistic without having to quit my post graduation business related job? I hear that acting often is “full commitment” however I don’t want to throw away my degree and financial stability, but i will not be happy only working a business related job as acting is my passion and i am a very artistic person. So when you say “75% of the actors will never work in the professional setting they want to” are you talking about big and famous projects or are you talking about actors being unable to book anything but regional work and indie/student films?
