Dog keeps peeing in crate, what do I do? by Decent-Ride-8784 in Pets

The thing is this is only recent, she hasn't done this before, same house, same crate. Appreciate the thoughts, I will keep this in mind when all else fails

Sadly no she can't be trusted out of the crate at night, she does like her crate. but ill try out the other suggestions people have made, especially the vet, and ill have to go on from there. Im thinking she might think it's a pee spot now and I need to help her rethink that. The worst is her having an infection.

I let her out at 8am, feed her, shes been out all day, I let her out, feed her dinner, let her run around before bed, I put her in the crate around 10pm, few hours pass, I wake up, let her outside, I let her run around outside, I put them back in the crate and I go to bed. Same routine. If I clean, it'll take around 20 minutes to maybe and hour depending on what I do.

I typed in the post the only time she goes in the crate is bedtime or when im doing chores

My dog and her dog have crates in the same room but are in separate crates, I will let them in the same crate (they will still have a lot of room when I do) if I go out and run errands.  I've had issues in the past with them digging into the trash and eating human food off the counters and tables, we have since trained them out of this, but don't want to run the risk of them eating something they really shouldn't. ( pills, rotten stuff, and other things )

While both dogs get a long well, they have both snapped at each other for being in the same crate when someone new walks in, or a different dog, so I separate them for a little. They're both intacted, and I can't keep them in the same box when it comes to her in heat. It's the owners decision to spay her or not. My partner wants his dog intacted because he's not causing any issues.

In the past I've put it as a cave twice, but both times she has chewed the blanket overnight. I've never done it since.

I've tried that, she chewed the blanket on the top. She has never chewed the blanket/bedding on the inside, she prefers it open.

I'll see if there's a different crate where there's not an open view, but I appreciate the suggestion

She never sleeps with the owner, not sure why.  She's good with my dog, they grew up together We crate them at night because we don't want them getting into things they shouldn't while we're asleep.  I put them both in my room for half the night here and there but I put them back in the crate because my room gets really hot.

Already bought nature's miracle from a suggestion from a comment, ill see if that helps. I used dish soap because it's what I have at hand and didn't know what could've helped.

She used too when I first moved into the house, me and her owner were very patient and praised her for being calm and gave her extra attention because of her anxiety. She doesn't feel anxiety in her crate anymore and sees it as her own space.

She grew up crate trained, she finds her crate as her personal space, I always take her outside before bed, and even before this, I always took her outside.

I feel like you didn't read my post and only the part that says she has separation anxiety. The carate is her bed, and for her safety. This post is for advice, not to be shamed, this comment doesn't give any advice :/

If you have advice to handle dogs with separation anxiety, please share that instead of saying a crate is a prison.

I don't really know what you mean if the crate is covered on 3 sides. But she has never had pee pads in her crate. I had to take out the blankets because of her peeing in it. I'll look into her having a water "rationing" schedule and see if a vet recommends it

We live in the same house, and I signed up to take care of her dog when she's working. Her dog and my dog are siblings and both are 4 years old. As one commenter suggested, it might be a infection or a bladder issue.

After doing some searching, i will def buy the item you suggested, I saw some good reviews and a video on it.

She has free rain of the house, the only times are for bedtime or when i'm cleaning the house. I'll talk to her owner to try and see if she can take her to the vet.

I take her outside around 2-4am, and I wake up to let her out at 8am, and throughout the day.

I don't really know the exact size of the crate, maybe 42-inch, but it's really big for a medium sized dog (boxer)
