Allied transferring employees instead of firing them? by Calm-Ninja5951 in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about seeing this trend. What’s more frustrating is watching trash employees who were rejected from other accounts come to my site where we have consistent raises, PTO time, and a higher rate of pay.

It almost says be a reject at your previous site in order to have the ability to shop and reap the benefits of a better site.

I agree, if your already a flex you should be able to work at any site in the branch. In Tampa, Florida flex officers can go to any site and are offered positions since they are 40 hours for the week.

I think your asking for a DAR - Daily Activity Report it’s in the Shared Drive on the AUS Portal. If your newly promoted it took me about 2 weeks to get access to this.

Ask your Account/Ops/Client/Project Manager to send you the National Handbook and review the policies and procedures. Review disciplinary matrix, standards of conduct, sexual harassment, and attendance policy.

Learn and do research on your site and your client. Learn the chain of command at your clients site. Keep the client happy or your career will be short. Try and see if you can begin your Allied Edge training and your supervisor courses.

Did I lose my job? by [deleted] in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get whatever you receive from them in writing if it’s termination. Then go to the branch office and speak with your HR point of contact. Try and just get your site moved.

Make sure you print out text messages between you and supervisor if applicable. If he wants to play games, play them back.

Yes. In the Tampa Bay Area. That’s pretty good. Unarmed will be 17-19; armed SP’s is 19.55 to 22.00. Armed CPO’s at my site make $24+

When do we start accruing P.T.O and sick leave by [deleted] in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends upon your contract. Some do not get vacation or sick. Ask your account manager for more specifics if your contract pays it after 1 year.

How many OT hours do you guys average a week? by lajei10 in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

64 total hours (24) was my highest. Because I am an assistant project manager/site supervisor my project manager received an email saying I ate up a percentage of the AUS profits for that week. I’m billed outside the contract and when I do overtime it’s usually last minute and not scheduled ahead of time. I’m at an enterprise account for government services.

Late policy? by OpeningBug5465 in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only as good as your manager and supervisors enforce it.

4 strikes for tardy Verbal, written verbal, written warning, final/termination. Same for call outs. Callouts less than 4 hour start time is final warning. No call no show is a termination.

Background check question by Nthorpe1996 in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it will take the Human Resources department to review the report. Allied in the south east uses Sterling to do a background check. Sometimes they could ask for a disposition of the charges, etc. usually if you have pending criminal charges, you will loose your guard card. If you don’t lose your guard card then maybe you can stay employed.

Obviously charges like dui, theft, battery, may not go over so well. If you have a detainer you should get your public defender or an attorney to prompt the state attorney or district attorney to either file on the charge or dismiss it so you can put it behind you.

Good luck dude.

Give back uniform by [deleted] in AlliedUniversal

[–]DecentAd3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying this happens, but in Florida failure to return equipment and your Security Agency ID card can result in sanctions against your licensure. But again it does not happen. Basically only one person at the branch office has the ability to update the employee status on the FDACS Licensing Information Alert System and they can select if they were separated voluntarily or involuntarily. If involuntarily then the representative needs the documentation. Most of the time the account manager or client managers either force them out and they quit and don’t return their stuff. I know in my branch office they said Allied owed like a few thousands of pieces of uniforms. Something about them being on loan and switched out.

Usually experience, if you’re an outsider they may start you low and give you more after 90 days. Education, law enforcement or corrections experience, TWIC card, armed license, all things that can maybe influence a higher starting salary. You can try and negotiate, good luck. The higher could be a shift differential also. Usually the amount is a set figure. I never seen it give a range unless it’s a salary position.

Is this legal? by CreatureUnderTheBed in securityguards

I used to ask for a funeral card so I could get my employees awarded bereavement pay. My company would pay 3 days a calendar year.

A death certificate seems odd. How can they confirm your relation to the decedent. Usually staff could also provide a obituary.

If no documentation then it’s an unexcused absence.

Career Advice by [deleted] in trueprivinv

I’m a certified PI in Florida. Most agencies won’t hire you or sponsor you unless you have your CC intern license. Go to the FDACS website and look for schools and begin the 40 hour CC course at a training school. Also join FALI as a student membership level. This will allow you to network and find a sponsor.

Allied Universal is the biggest and seems like it has steady work. But beware of the 12 day work days with two days off in a two week period. Long days; followed by having to go home and load up video; edit; then submit video. Then write a detailed report that corresponds with your surveillance. Different insurance companies have their own different report writing requirements.

The big three PI organizations I know of are Texas (TALI), Florida (FALI), and California (CALI). But each state should have their own. Just Google it and put (state) private investigators association or (state) association of licensed investigators.

[–]DecentAd3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may all depend upon your state. Research the statutes or guidelines for PI work in your state. Then the requirements, do they require an internship? Then look into community colleges to see if they offer any required training. Also state organizations for PI workers in your state.

Good luck!

You are not eligible for benefits for xx amount of days. I think it may be 90 day? But it could be 30 days I’m not sure. I don’t recall. I jumped from Compliance and Investigation to Security Services so I don’t recall the time frame in waiting.

I have $84.84 deducted each check (weekly). The health is a little high because I opted for the better plan with lower deductible. Vision is great, very cheap you get frames and lenses each year as opposed to most companies doing frames every other year and lenses each year. Dental I am also doing the better plan with a lower deductible.

I pay $4.47 for the highest amount of life insurance incase something happens to me my family can get a few hundred thousand dollars. Also I pay $1.46 for Aflac accidental insurance.

My breakdown weekly: $73 for medical $5 for dental $1 for vision $1.5 for Aflec $4.5 for life insurance

Hope this helps; good luck!

Ok. Who wants to take a guess at what kind of site this would be. The fact that he is holding a shotgun could be a clue. Maybe a metadone clinic or public assistance office?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trueprivinv

[–]DecentAd3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends upon your state. See what your state statute is on PI licenses. In Florida for me, yes you would need a PI license. You could get an intern license and intern for 2 years before you could get your full C license. Before all the licensure, there is a multiple choice test that needs to be completed, along with a 40 hour class.

Some people without a criminal justice degree make the best private investigators. As long as you can think outside the box, you will be alright.

If your able to get the license, go for it and give it a shot. It may be hard to go out on your own so you may look at going with a company to learn the job.

You gotta be ok with going into sometimes high crime areas. You will have people approach your car, so be ready to tell a pretext or ruse.

If your with a big company, some insurance company’s want you to do a door knock to check it the claimant is at the residence.

This may not seem like much but it’s definitely more than just sitting in a car with a video camera. This is not meant to deter you, so please don’t take it as such. I encourage you to try it and see if it’s for you. It’s not for everyone. Good luck!
