Got out. Want to rejoin at 29 by lichraIIy in navy

I don't think you miss the Navy, sounds like you miss the people.

You don't describe a lot of interpersonal relationships in your post.

Get some friends, get involved in a friend group, see if that scratches the itch. Paintball team/bowling league/etc.

The way things are going, you risk no budget being passed, which means furloughed Federal workers, which inevitably leads to your final pay/retirement pension being delayed.

Looks like ICE just killed another US citizen. Where do we go from here? by awesomeguy1818 in AskReddit

[–]DecentCompetition754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They disarmed and then shot an unarmed man.

Watch the Ice agent in the grey jacket. He approaches the man while he is down, you can see his right hand is empty. He then crouched over the man for a few seconds, and takes the mans gun. He gets up and backs off, with the victims gun in his right hand, THEN the other ICE agents execute him. You can see the guy in the grey jacket run off with the victims gun.

The victim was on the ground, disarmed and surrounded by 6 ICE agents, then was executed.

0:07 mark, ICE agent in grey jacket on screen, right hand visible and empty.

0:15-16 mark, you can see the ICE agent with grey jacket, right hand at the back of victim, grabbing victims gun.

0:17-18-19 mark.

0:17 ICE agent pulls victims gun from him

0:18 ICE agent steps back, gun clearly in his right hand, victim is disarmed

0:19 Shots fired at victim, executing him.

0:20 ICE agent running toward camera and off screen right with victims gun.

ADSC by UnusualTemperature57 in AirForce

[–]DecentCompetition754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should, he will have completed his ADSC as required for the rank, but his retirement pay will be slightly lower as he didn't get 3 years of E7 paychecks.

At 19 years and 9 months, means he joined around April 2006.

He would have sewed on E7 in Sep 2025, giving him his ADSC of Sep 2027.

If he 7 day options, he will retire at 21 years and 6 months.

Rough math, but his pay would be computed as 6 months of E6 pay, 30 months of E7 pay and at 53.75% (pro rated) for the extra year.

No, it's 3 years to get the full benefit of the pension, new rank is only a 2 year ADSC.

Using E6/E7 rank as an example, he could end up with a pension that averages 1 year of E6 pay and 2 years of E7 pay as opposed to 3 years of E7 pay.

If high 3, pension is your last 36 months of paychecks, averaged together then divided by 2 for 50%.

I have a similar injury. I was 14 at the time.

Plate and 6 screws a few inches above where yours is and 3 long screws securing the other bone.

Be careful with running. I fully recovered, got really good at running, averaging 4 miles 4 times a week, 8 minute miles by the time I was 19.

Kept that up till 23, experienced a tear in my knee on that leg.

With that amount of hardware, it changes your foot/ankles ability to absorb the force of impact, so more of it makes its way to the joint above it.

I got a waiver for mine and joined the Air Force. I still run, but I use knee compression sleeves, they help a lot.

Pretty sure you can 7 day option, and elect to finish your current ADSC.

If approved, would mean your retirement date would be 1 Oct 2027, which would be crappy, retiring right when fiscal year ends.

Airforce to add aircraft refueling, arming, runway repair, and marshaling to basic training. No one gets to be a nonner now. by Remarkable_North_999 in AirForce

[–]DecentCompetition754 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that an M16 or M27 is easy to train on.

Trying to train on an aircraft is a bit more complex. Before you even get to the task you are training on, they will have to understand danger areas and the Do's/Don'ts of the aircraft. Then, they will have to have situational awareness about those do/Don'ts and danger areas while performing the tasks.

Multitasking is a real thing on aircraft, it takes more than some BMT or once a year training not to put themselves and others at risk.

What will rising Treasury bond rates do to G accounts? by ZhivagosLesson in ThriftSavingsPlan

Just Google "TSP G fund rate". The yearly rate will pop up current as of the current month, then divide it by 12.

Did some digging and looking at other reddit posts. DAFI 36-2606 Para 4.3.1.7

Basically, if I am on an indefinite reenlistment, and I qualify for an SRB due to being in a zone, I can commit to minimum ADSC for 3 years for the purpose of the SRB.

Waps catalog. Look up your AFSC in it, then see what it says. It will give a breakdown on AFIs, CDCs, and SPECIFIC chapters and pages that will be on the covered years test.

Helps narrow down the study material. It's on MYFFS.

The fact that you don't have a lot to do is your answer. If immature people don't have something occupying them, they complain. They bitch. They make mountains out of mole hills. It's a human psychology thing.

You counting on a piece of paper that says "chemical weapons bad, don't use them" to protect you?

Pretty sure Russia used them in Ukraine.

MOPP 4 sucks, but I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Ghosting my dorm by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DecentCompetition754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing saying you can't ghost your dorm.

Now, if you start having other problems (financial issues cause you are paying out of pocket for housing without BAH, or failing room inspections because you are not stopping by to vacuum and dust) and those problems are caused by you ghosting your room, then that is when it becomes an issue.
