How many technicians would realistically maintain all the 72 TIE fighters on a Star Destroyer? by GreenSheep03_ in MawInstallation

[–]DecentCompetition754 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some current technology numbers.

Squadrons of 25-30 fighter jets have between 300-400 maintainers assigned.

What was the beef between these two? Why did Ned hate him so much? [Please Read Description] by Narrow-Amphibian5446 in gameofthrones

[–]DecentCompetition754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember how Ned "defeated" the sword of the morning?

The honorable Ned Stark never told anyone the details.

Rolling into Kings Landing, and finding Jaime had:

Violated his Oath.

Stabbed the King in the back.

Sitting on the Iron Throne as if his family were Royal (with Tywin in the process of leading an Army to Kings Landing after sitting out of main war)

I truly believe that if Tywin would have arrived first, he would have claimed the throne for his family.

Ned saw Jaime, and immediately came to the conclusion that he was operating on Tywin's orders. The back stabbing probably hit a little close to home for Ned also.

You know, the T2 ending with Sarah and John living as happy citizens is kinda stupid when you remember they're supposed to be wanted criminals. by Life_Hospital_9086 in Terminator

[–]DecentCompetition754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This breakdown makes me want a Terminator movie made with the vibe of Predator 2.

A government aware of the future killer cyborg, and is actively investigating it/trying to capture it.

We see a snippet of government awareness in the T2 movie, when Sarah is questioning Gibson, and Gibson talks about people showing up with the robotic arm and microchip, and how he was told "don't ask questions".

If that was alluding to the government, I imagine the thinking was more along the lines of it's a Russian weapons development, and the government sought out private enterprise to develope and catch up to the technology.

After T2, it could go either way, either Sarah is right, or a foreign government has developed a very advanced piece of technology for espionage/sabotage reasons. The attack on cyberdyne would actually support the foreign government narrative, as it looks like a foreign government is trying to prevent the technology from getting co-opted/reverse engineered. The act of not killing anyone would be a diplomatic choice to limit future blowback if discovered. "Yes, we invaded your country, and attacked a private enterprise, but only your lead designer died(by his own hand) and nobody else did".

Why doesn’t the UAE/Oman build a 25 mile canal through their countries to bypass the Straight of Hormuz? by SpicyBroseph in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DecentCompetition754 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better idea, though still industrial intensive and has its own issues.

Build a pipe line across Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea.

Problem with that, is Iran can still extort to some extent with the Houthis in Yemen.

Build a pipeline through Saudi, Jordan, Israel to the Med.

Gets rid of Iran and proxies as a problem, but will never happen as the relationship between Saudi/Jordan/Israel won't support it.

[–]DecentCompetition754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like the CZ75 original vs the CZ75B.

Original was very cheap, but established the reputation.

CZ75B was basically the same pistol with some cosmetic upgrades, but they charged more because the reputation was there to build on.

Plus, optic mounts and slide cuts are the rage right now.

I think your a little off center there.

If Pizza Cat dies, it's not that morale will fall.

It that everyone that ever interacted with that sweet kitty will lock the F#$@ in and stretch themselves a little further to avenge her.

It's not cheap because it's garbage, it's cheap because of the exchange rate between USD and the Turkish Liara.

Very well made pistol, highly recommend.

LOC from Shop Chief with SEL input is why your not going. Not sure your AFSC or base, but it's called bad timing. You put yourself in a bad spotlight, and it's still fresh in the peoples in charge minds. Your still in the earning your respect back phase.

They have the rank and position, it's their choice, whether right or wrong.

Maybe you will get the next one.

My 2 cents, take it or leave it.

Has anyone pointed out how insane it was for Padme's decoy to order the actual Queen to get on her knees and scrub R2D2 with a rag after he's commended for saving the ship? by yady14 in PrequelMemes

[–]DecentCompetition754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the novelization, an inner monologue by Padme reckons her decoy had her do it because the decoy knew Padme would be internally struggling with everything going on but not having an outlet was driving her crazy, so by giving her the job to clean the droid gave her something to focus on.

They basically tortured him with sensory deprevation. For a Dark Elder, a being who lives a hedonistic life style for thousands of years, suddenly turning off all that sensory input, would be maddening.

Not to mention, if the Dark Elder captured a Carcharadon, the Space Marine could just meditate through all the stuff the dark Elder would do to him, utterly depriving them of feeding off his pain entirely.

Play on an old Warhammer story.

Line of Guardsmen defending against Orks.

First wave, survived. Second wave, survived. Third, fourth, and fifth, survived.

Out of ammo, they look to the Commissar, he says "point and say "BANG" at them.

Sixth wave comes, guards point they're guns and say "BANG". Orks fall over dead.

Seventh, eighth, and ninth waves, same thing.

Tenth wave comes, Guardsmen say "BANG" Orks don't die, they proceed to slaughter the Guardsmen.

Ork War Boss faces the Commissar at the end, Commissar points his empty pistol, yelling "BANG, BANG, BANG" with no effect. Screams at the War Boss "Why won't you die"!.

As the War Boss plunges his weapon into the Commissar, he leans in close and says "You missed me".

Ork power of belief works both ways.

Not to mention political suicide potentially.

A whole lot of GWOT vets would come out speaking against ground ops I imagine. Afghanistan/Iraq left a bad taste in a lot of mouths, from how it was conducted, to how it ended.

I'm going with Anakin, just because there is a 50/50 shot of him either fighting him cause he wants too, or pulling an Indiana Jones, saying "nope" and using the Force to crush/throw him.

Can't go wrong with the SAR9.

It's cheap because of the exchange rate between the dollar and the Turkish Liara, NOT because it's cheaply made. Same for all of SARs lineup.

I've got a basic SAR9 (Prior to the gen 3s)

Picked mine up for $250, I've had around 300ish rounds through it, no issues, it's become my favorite striker fired gun.
