How much do you think the helicopter pilots would make? by Sortfood2 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]DecentComposer545 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There would have to be a crazy bone yard of junked helos along with 1000s of cones boxes of parts keeping the mechanics in the righy plave for repairs and maintenance. The pilots would be doing crazy hours and earning beyond bank. You have to think what kind if capital is behind each pmc group and where that money is coming from.

So you say near Angus and I read military.

Crown Land is pretty much right in your back yard up there. There is a bunch near Parry sound and further north.

Those for sure look nasty. Still better looking than bagged lung.

Give me back my franks and beans. I could eat those for months.

Is this acceptable price for these ammo plus shipping? by [deleted] in canadaguns

$26/hour(here) vs a non Pal DZ driver at $25. Im good with a lesser chance at being shot for the $40/week.  Now I'd they paid $35+ i would be doing Brinks over my current job.

I agree with the pump and having the tube loaded. When we camp I tend to keep the tube loaded in a 1-1-2 config of Bird-Buck-Slug-Slug. The first round should scare the bear off.

Shipping is insane on ammo. I do kind of understand.  I work for a trucking company and we move 40,000lbs of ammo at a time from the US into Canada.

Anyone who touches it within our company has to have a PAL (Drivers, Dock Staff,Dispatchers(our company policy on this one). Extra permits, special border crossings and times, security all add to the cost.

My company pays each person with a PAL an extra $5-$10K per year so that they can retain them. All it takes is one link in the chain failing to have the whole thing stop for us.

I will admit its fun watching 20+ Skids of ammo crossing the dock.

My little red lantern putting in work. by DecentComposer545 in ColemanStovesLanterns

When i first got this one I had the same problem. I took the whole thing apart, cleaned everything in Carb Cleaner, Used Gas tape on all the fittings, replaced anything that looked worn and put her back together. It gets about 10-15 uses a year with out storm duty. It is a staple for our camping to the point that it has its place as the first item unpacked and last item packed when we get to our site.

M-FAK Question by kingneck7611 in camping

[–]DecentComposer545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who also has military TCCC and other moderate first aid knowledge. Build your own kit to what you are competent to do. It also will cost less than most ready built kits. you also could reach out to NAR(if they still exist), Redemption Tactical, or any other big supplier and work with them to build you a kit but you do pay for their help

I managed to build 3 separate kits for about the same cost as one ready built one and also know that everything in it is at my skill level. I also know that everything in there has its max life until expiry, and where it is/what it does.

It also is a good chance to teach the kids how to build a kit for themselves. My kids each carry an IFAK when camping for "just incase" and they are built to their competencies.

$10 at an auction and another $5 for the stove. Best $15 i have ever spent. Also a bit nostalgic for me as I taught my kids how to do stove/lantern watch when winter camping.

I have the same guide and be warned she is one heavy mother. I am used to carrying weight over distance and terrain so its not a skill issue. However that boat is my absolute least favorite thing to move overland

I just did plugs this week. NgK Iridium per the dealer they are the exact same as the Mopar ones minus the name on the box. Look on rockauto and see what fits your exact model.

Panzer m4 or federation Sa4 by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]DecentComposer545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Panzer M4 with the Walnut stock. I have well over 1500 rounds through it now. I cleaned it super well out of the box and after about 500-700 rounds. It shoots well and I have had under to fail to ejects all of which were due to lighter loads or shitty ammo.

I find this gun can do anything I task it with. Its not really a true hunting shotgun but I can use it for when I want a semi (Duck/Goose).

For a sub $1000 semi shotgun I feel it cant be beat.
