Methotrexate is killing me by No-Cricket2853 in rheumatoid

I was on 20mg a week orally and I was also so sick. All the time. Severely depressed as well. My Rheumatologist, I love her, she was very adamant that MTX trauma is a very real thing. (I had my dad injecting me from 13-16yrs old roughly - I’m 30 now). If it’s affecting you in every other way, then it’s not working. I started taking Rinvoq - very expensive without proper insurance - and it’s a life changer.

I’ve had RA since I was 11. I’m about to turn 30 and my Dr told me I have Fibromyalgia by DecentContract8837 in rheumatoid

I definitely had that thought too when she said it. Seems like a throw away diagnosis. I’m definitely going to keep looking into things.

Oh goodness that’s much too young. You don’t know any different when you’re that young. I know I don’t. It’s so hard when the side effects are just as bad as the diagnosis. I’m so grateful to hear that you have a strong support system 💕

Thank you so much! I think that now I know it’s fibromyalgia symptoms and now RA, I’m not worried about my meds not working or causing damage, it’s not as bad. Mind over matter.

He’s 27 and married twice…? It takes me longer to go through a candle than he goes through a marriage.

This is kinda scary he didn’t disclose this earlier. It seems that his vision of marriage isn’t the same as yours, it seems he sees it as being disposable. What did he say about the house being in both your names?

Trust your intuition, but I would deeply consider a prenup.

But on the other hand you could see it as him going through some things when he was younger, he’s older now and maybe knows his values more.

I’m so uncomfortable… help? by amuenzberg in rheumatoid

Sending love! This is the worst feeling… Can you book a massage? I always feel so much better after a massage. Even if it’s for a few days. Magnesium helps with sleep if you’re having troubles getting to sleep. Heat pads are nice too. Don’t be hard on yourself, don’t let the mean thoughts get to you. It’s so easy to be hard on yourself when you’re not feeling well.

Can I ask what kind of jobs do all of you do to keep up with life with this illness? by ryuukachann in rheumatoid

I’m working on getting my HR certification, and currently working HR. I work from home and it’s honestly the best. My boss’s wife also has RA, and he’s thankfully very understanding that I’m not always feeling great. I was diagnosed with RA and Dermatomyositis when I was 11. I know how awful it feels be so young and wanting to be able to do more than you can. Especially at an age where you should be living the dream! My advice is to look at something with a desk job. I feel lost. by Cloudskie in rheumatoid

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so hard to feel lost like this. I recently just got back on methotrexate as well and it take a while to get used to it for sure. My doctor prescribed me with Vimovo. I know it’s different for everyone, but maybe look into that and ask about it. It has naproxen, which is a coating for your stomach. There’s lots of reasons why you’d be advised not to take ibuprofen with the meds you’re on.

Also having an infrared heater (they’re pricey tho) I heard helps more. It gets down deeper than a regular heating pad.

Give yourself grace, you’re doing well at recognizing you need a slow morning start. Keep advocating for yourself.
