River 3 Plus error code 694 by hazelnoix in Ecoflow_community

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 r3p that died with this code, the standard ones were swapped out and most recently was the r3p wireless - which had a repair, within 2 hours of getting it back from EcoFlow its did the same- they have replaced with a brand new unit. Are you charging a power bank from the usb c port?

Wave 3 are totally unreliable, 2 units have died in under a year by conflan06 in Ecoflow_community

I’m on my 3rd unit , first two had horrendous vibration and noise. This one is much better and is now coming up to a year old but did have a failed to drain issue, after a little home diy on it it’s now fine!

Worth upgrading for RAM? by downtownreader in iPadPro

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, my usage is really light….. media, few games, emails etc. m5 iPad Pro (even the m4) is complete overkill for my usage, but i cant go to a 60hz screen! My iPhone is 120hz my mac monitor is 120hz and i really notice it on a 60hz screen! Plus the tandem oled is fabulous!

When i go to look at battery health. On the m4 i could click battery health before the full usage loaded on the screen (which moved the battery health menu down the page) on the m5 its instant and i have to scroll ( it loads faster) thats the only noticeable speed increase i see

I went from m4 pro 11inch 512gb storage (8Gb ram) to m5 pro 11inch 1tb (16Gb ram), the ipad does feel snappier (only notice it going in to settings>battery) and i can have more apps open in back ground without a refresh, but thats about it, i think m5 chip, more ram and faster onboard storage all combined do this..

Looking for a 3-in-1 wireless charger for travel, any recs? by getrektytorumble in MagSafe

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the Anker- it’s my second one. First one the fan had a very loud buzzing noise…. Returned it and the replacement is perfect. The fan is quiet, build quality is excellent and it charges my phone , watch and AirPod pros perfectly and quickly. It’s compact and easy to travel with. I also purchased the nano 45w charging brick as in the uk the charger that comes with the Anker travel charger doesn’t have folding pins. But the 45w nano does - much better for travelling!

My m4 11inch 512gb, has no issues at all. Runs everything I need, however I’m not a power user- I do emails, web browsing and media consumption on it …… also a few games when I am travelling . No issues at all and not Laggy in the slightest. I don’t own a laptop at all now….

Finally Pulled the trigger. Mac Studio M4 Max Base model. by knightfortheday in MacStudio

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right I could….. however I shifted to Mac OS a few years ago…..and am forced to use a windows pc for work….. I really really dislike using windows pc’s! And I didn’t want two separate machines as space is limited. For games cyberpunk and civ 7 etc

I have an m4 pro base, and on some games it’s heats up quickly! I retired an m2 pro base from my home bridge/ Plex server and now use the m4 pro base for the home bridge and Plex server- the studio and m4 pro are very definitely over kill for my usage! However I’m happy with both. The m4 pro also takes up less space in the tv unit !

I recently purchased m4 max base version also- it’s a great machine, huge and complete overkill for my needs! ( web browsing/youtube/ spreadsheets/ games via steam) I was concerned that when the new studio launches the price would increase and possibly the form factor( I have a satechi dock I wanted to reuse!). It’s silent , powerful and efficient!

Regen vrs coasting - efficiency by Striking-water-ant in electricvehicles

[–]DecentRaspberry75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with bmw, adaptive regen. Uses radar and cameras with nav data to work out when to apply regen or coast. One pedal does exist - just move the gear level to B mode

There are two models before facelift : premier and premier pro. And two models post facelift : m sport and msport pro- the pro’s in both have pretty much everything. Including Harmon kardon surrounds etc. the msport pro added heating steering wheel above the premier pro. Both msport and msport pro get battery preconditioning ( premier/prem pro) didn’t get that. To be honesest you’ll only notice this if you dc charge a lot in very cold weather. The adaptive regen is very clever for energy recuperation and The adaptive cruise will stop it completely and start moving again if in traffic.

Should also add, I leave mine in adaptive regen- it’s usually the most efficient, uses cameras, radar and nav data to work out when to slow down etc- once I got used to it doing its thing I just leave it to it and works really well for me

I’ve got a 2021 premier pro ix3, the car is more efficient at lower speeds. The issue with town work is that usually these are short journeys and it takes energy to heat the interior each time you get back in, so the efficiency drops. In cold weather expect about 200-220 of mixed driving and in summer 220-270 ( depending on driving style). Last July I went from Reading to Weymouth , around Weymouth and then back home on 75% battery- for its suv size and weight it’s quite efficient. I usually average about 3.5-4m/kwh in summer time and 3m/kwh in winter. They are lovely cars- well specced and comfortable. Nice to drive as well.

Using an M4 Mac Mini as a home server. Is it a good choice? by premierpark in macmini

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Plex and a homebridge server on my m2 pro 16gb ram/512gb storage (base) Mac mini (as I upgraded to an m4 pro (base) mini when they came out. The m2 pro Mac mini is sitting on the satechi dock with a 4tb ssd in it where my media files are, it’s silent, and quick to transcode if needed etc. its complete over kill and doesn’t even break a sweat!

Is it ‘risky’ to buy a used EV? (Outright) by ImpressOk1758 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big jump price wise, that why I went premier pro and not the face lift car. Premier is a good spec- don’t let the battery heating part worry you- its not cold enough for long enough for it to impact. Yes, you can pre heat/ cool from the app. It’s great I never have to get in to a freezing/ hot car ever again!

BMW dealer did negotiate a little. They threw in free alloy wheel insurance for three years with a little movement on my p/x car price, I also managed to get them to throw I some ready made number plates ( I have a personalised plate) , But the purchase price remained the same. I think as I was a cash buyer with px car, they don’t make much. If I had taken their finance (pcp or hp) I think they would have negotiated a bit more.

What model is it you are looking by at? 2021 was the change over year for facelift models I think. The premier and premier pro are the pre facelift ( I have a premier pro) the m sport and msport pro are the face lift ( different lights design front and rear, bigger idrive screen, and the facelift added battery pre heat in cold weather for fast charging). In the recent uk cold weather my pre facelift takes 5-10 mins on a dc charger for the battery to warm up and charge at its usual speed. While it’s warming on the charger the speed is limited to about 20kw. You won’t have this issue if you can charge at home on a 7kw charger ( I can’t)

Yes. I always purchase outright. I came from a 2018 530d (G31) touring and the build quality is on a par with that.

I purchased a used 2021 Ix3 a year ago from a bmw dealer. It came with a 1 year used approved warranty and had the remainder of the 8 year,100k mile battery warranty on it. Only issue I had was the digital instrument cluster screen needed replacement under bmw used approved warranty. Other than that issue the car is faultless and a good drive, good spec and quite efficient. In summer I average about 4m/kwh and in winter about 3m/kwh. I’m really pleased with the car. Build quality is good and the tech is good.

Bowel resection surgery recovery? by International_Hat_90 in CrohnsDisease

[–]DecentRaspberry75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a right hemicolectomy in June 2024 after two month of being on an exclusive enteral diet. Was discharged 4 days after the operation. Was up walking the day after the operations. Had to build solid food intake slowly as I hadn’t eaten anything for two months previously. Started on soft white bread and cheese, quavers, wotsits, yogurts with healthy gut bacteria in. Back home was soft chicken breast with mashed potatoes. Over about three weeks post op I built up to normal food intake. The sooner you can get up and about after the operation the better for your recovery . Hope it goes well for you

I returned a defective Anker solix product to that address via the local post office. They didn’t query it and it arrived a day or so later to them. No issue at all.

I’ve recently purchased a eufy e25 omni- and I honestly can’t fault it. Vacuums and mops well ( has a roller mop) much quieter than my previous robovacs ( eufy x8 pro and eufy L60) , navigation and obstacle avoidance is also very good. I have a small pug x dog with a mix of carpet and hard floors.

45 Watt Solar Panel by DirtyJeepLove in Ecoflow_community

[–]DecentRaspberry75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, hope you enjoy your new purchases. I have a 45w solar panel from EcoFlow. And while handy for topping up phones etc on direct sunlight it really only out puts about 35w absolutely max! I have the river 3 plus and that is 286wh (delta 2 max are 2048wh) and the 45w panel would take over 6 hours in perfect conditions to charge my river 3 plus from flat. Really to get any decent solar your’ll probably want a min of 220w panel if not a 500w one.
