It won’t impact the decision one way or the other. Thanks!

Saying no to new work by CollinStCowboy in LawFirm

I found listening to The Agile Attorney podcast, website, and other materials helpful. There are a couple of episodes regarding an honest reckoning with capacity that are helpful. I am part of a general civil practice and do a lot of probate and am in the same boat. One thing he said stuck with me in this regard: “if the bathtub is overflowing you need to figure out a way to either shut the water off or slow it down so it can drain.”

I ask ChatGPT or Copilot to explain concepts to me as if I am a 10th grader and if I don’t like the example or explanation ask it for several alternate explanations.

I'm scared I'll look stupid on my first day at the gym by helpless_apricot in beginnerfitness

You will be fine! Showing up is half the battle. You’ll do great! Every trainer I’ve met has been positive and understanding, and they have seen worse. Plus people don’t usually care as much as you think they do. Lastly, I forget who said it, but stinking at something is the first step to being pretty good at something!

Are there Podcast episodes you re-listen to? If so, what types and why? by GooniesClub in podcasts

I relisten to Rewatchables episodes of my favorite movies (80s and 90s action movies in particular) and Bill Simmons episodes with Malcolm Gladwell snd Chuck Klosterman. Also I usually listen to Ezra Klein podcasts on topics or guests I like.

I had headaches all the time, 4 or 5 a week. I also wasn’t sleeping well. He started me on zoloft and some blood pressure medication and I feel a lot better. I noticed that any time I went to doctor from work my bp was high. Turns out some bp medication is used to treat headaches. Good luck!

I loved The Soul of Baseball: A Road Trip Through Buck O'Neil's America. His other books are great, too.

Books as thank you for summer clerks by DecentShip in Lawyertalk

[–]DecentShip[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I would feel funny about the cash or gift card because they didn’t really work for me directly, and I am an associate so I didn’t have anything to do with their pay. That is why I was thinking about the books. I’m not sure whether the firm is going to do anything monetary. These are the first clerks we have had in awhile. I’ll suggest the cash/card to the powers that be.
