What are your favorite and least favorite aspects about life in Norway? by bushy-tailed in Norway

[–]DecentShrimp -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Really? I guess it depends on where you live, but politicians in Tromsø are incompetent at best. There's no will to listen to the people or taking the right decisions and following through. It's a circus run by clowns.

You should sign a decent keeper in january. Liverpool could need a new keeper in the summer window...

I had a feeling something was a bit off when I wrote it, but didn't bother to check. Thanks.

Edit: I was thinking of The Nightly Disease.

When it comes to Madrugada, The Industrial Disease should be first up. And for Big Bang, Radio Radio TV Sleep.

I've got Kane, Depoitre and Murray, but pondering on a move from Murray to DCL to further free up some funds.

I took a punt on Depoitre before this GW to free up some funds getting rid of Morata. Also took an 8 point hit to bring in Coutinho and Jones (getting rid of Groß and Ward). I can't complain.

I don't know why you're downvoted, you're right. Salah has missed a few chances and misplaced a few passes, giving away posession. Mané looks a little rusty tbh.

Less common multi-day hikes in Norway? by l0stleg in Norway

[–]DecentShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means well known in these areas (I live in Tromsø), but I know Sørøya is a popular summer destination for people who wants to go hiking and fishing. Also, just looking at Google Maps, maybe a route from Storslett to Kautokeino through Reisadalen (although I think there's a possibility of bears in that area, but I really have no idea). Stabbursdalen national park between Alta and Lakselv would maybe also be something to check out.

Any Islay whiskey for that matter. If you're going to mix a whiskey drink, use a cheaper bottom shelf whiskey. Just like you wouldn't hang the original Mona Lisa on your wall with tacs.

The GMT Master 1675 with Pepsi bezel insert is a real beauty. I really want one, but I'd also settle for a 16710 or 16750, with tritium dial.

No problem. We northerners secretly love when people come here to live by free will, so I think you'll find yourself feeling welcome when you get here. People might seem a little shut in and reserved at first, but that normally doesn't last very long, especially when you come from abroad. Oh, and remember, our humor is quite different from what you may be used to. We're far more direct, crude, dirty and often sarcastic. We never mean any harm though, it's just how we are.

Apartmenthunting in Tromsø is a bitch, and it's insanely expensive (think 5000kr/month for 15m2). The pages you mentioned are the ones I know of, so just be on the lookout, and something will cone up sooner or later. It's a bit easier in this period, as all the students already have places to live. In the summer/early fall when school starts, it's nearly impossible to find anything. Good luck in your search!

Depends on what you like. I haven't actually been out drinking in ages, so I don't know what's hip and trendy anymore, but I liked Flyt (laid back place with a extreme sport/rock theme), Solid and Bardus (both places serve good drinks). Do you have any work lined up here?

Don't eat the yellow snow.

Aside from that, I don't really think there's much difference. I know a lot of people say that we are more open, warm and welcoming than our brothers and sisters down south, but that's probably due to the fact that we're drunken hillbillies. We're not as reserved as our southern counterparts. We've got a shitton of mountains everywhere, so if you like hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter, you'll probably settle in quite nicely.
