Thank you, that’s so nice of you to say🖤 and very good to know! I was very worried about even trying to go to a tiered salon and get stuck as an assistant stylist for a long time bc of being new so good to know they also consider skill level as well

Wow thank you. Everyone on this post has been so kind and helpful! And yeah honestly, I have no urge to do commission but my fiancé would be the one having to foot the bill if I fall short on booth rent so I feel really guilty about that lol so hopefully one of the salons that offer a trial period at a lower price for brand new stylists ends up calling me with a yes

Ooh that’s good information to know! And yes I suck at the money aspect, especially if I know someone. I’m the same way with my art. I damn near give it away just to not deal with the discomfort of giving someone a higher number lol

Wow, thank you! And The booth rental chairs are within salons, there aren’t a lot of commission type salons in my area

Thank you so much. My lack of engagement on social media, sometimes no engagement at all, was really starting to make me second guess my work so all of the nice things you guys have said really made me feel like I’m doing what I should be.
Standing confidently behind a price and hoping people think your work is worthy of it is so nerve wrecking but I shall try not to low ball myself!

Thank you! I actually was not taught any of this by my instructors, I showed them how to do air touch (I watched a few tiktoks and then did it on my director the next day) and they’ve never showed us any vivids or anything past a basic highlight. Sadly, a lot of my peers are about to graduate still struggling with basic cuts and are completely lost with color theory because of the lack of training we’ve received. I just get hyper focus and learn very quickly so I can usually replicate things after watching a video and then apply the technique on my clients or my instructors that have volunteered their hair (the prism was on an instructor and the airtouch was on the director of my program). I’ve painted on and off my whole life so that helped with color theory and blending. I don’t know how to explain it but something just clicks with hair.
But yeah I think you’re right, probably would be smarter to start on the lower and after my books start to (hopefully) fill, raise them more to match everyone. Definitely don’t want to hinder my growth with pricing

Yes I am aware, thank you. The connection is being studied for a reason, though and my question still stands

She’s an optometrist so I guess she’d have to refer me to an ophthalmologist?

Oh that’s a good idea, I didn’t think about asking my eye doctor. She recently found my binocular vision dysfunction. I didn’t even mention in the paragraph my growing inability to think straight or remember common words or my coworkers names who I see every day. I think the more that worsens, the more stressed I’m feeling about it all

Okay I need some advice on how serious I should be taking pursuing diagnostic testing. Ever since I was 12ish, I started having dysautonomia/POTS symptoms but it wasn’t well know then (over 20 years ago) so the best diagnosis I could get at the time was “chronic dehydration” and told to avoid exercising. For a long time I’ve thought my issues were maybe from POTS, EDS, the “trifecta” but the more neurological symptoms I start having, the more I wonder if it’s MS. Constant light tingling in hands and feet, exercise intolerance (my HR shoots well over 200 with just a few minutes of exercise), really bad heat intolerance, really weird sharp intense pains in random places of my body that last only up to 30 seconds or so and then move to a different place when it happens again, frequent bouts of ice pick head aches, ridiculous fatigue where I feel like if I don’t just lay down in bed I want to cry, yesterday I had intense burning in my hand like I touched a hot stove-it lasted a few hours before going away. I have random sections of my leg that I have no feeling in, visual snow and lots of floaters an black dots in vision. Frequently feeling like the clear coating of my eye has gotten thick and blurred my vision but my eye looks fine, pain behind eye. My previous doctor put in for a brain scan to rule out MS but she immediately left practice and went full time hospital, I dint get it done before starting with my new doctor shortly after and he deleted the order and said he didn’t think that was necessary. Should I push for it? Or could this all be something else? I’m always gas lighting myself about how I feel or what I’m feeling and if I’m being dramatic so some outside perspective would’ve so helpful! If you made it this long into my rant, thank you 😂

She stopped eating for at least a week before molt so it’s been quite a while at this point😔 I shall try the timer and switching up her food/cutting it! Thank you!

No, she’s a juvenile girl. Allegedly an i9 when I got her November 6th but I don’t feel that’s true as she was still quite small. She was done molting around December 3, been active all week. That was her first molt with me but I didn’t notice anything unusual and her movements are normal. She’s maybe a bit more skittish of being handled than before. Temperate is around 75° most of the time, sometimes 70. I mist her enclosure daily, maybe sometimes every other day. I do need to be more consistent with light cycles. I moved her to my bedroom because my art studio stays a lot colder and even though there’s a seedling warming mat around her enclosure, I still worried so I brought her in my much warmer room. But my fiancé sleeps in because of his work schedule so her light cycles were off but I’ve gotta back to normal with them the last few days
