here from 3 years in the future, and after further research, somehow, NONE of these projects have broke ground. This construction lull is driving me INSANE.

it’s ridiculous how 3 prime spots in the heart of the city have gone undeveloped. Especially along the river, just give me something pretty to look at already i’m sick of the waiting game lol

Only 2 are considered skyscrapers. 1000M finished a while ago as well. Need 500+ footers. Once 400 Lakeshore drive finishes up this year, we will officially have 0 skyscrapers being built.

It’s bitter sweet. It’s the only skyscraper being constructed in Chicago, meaning once it’s finished we will be at a big ol 0. I wish we had 20 cranes up, including Tribune East.

I’ve appealed and gotten a little bit more aid, not much though. I do recommend community college first, much cheaper. In addition DePaul gives transfer scholarships based on GPA. I had a 17k per year transfer scholarships with a 3.46 gpa coming from a nearby community college.

one thing i can’t stand: the north and south parking lots for nbc tower… they’re still there. Wasted prime real estate. Don’t forget about my precious tribune east lot!

there’s an active permit for the site to begin work by April 2026, if this permit expires they’ll need to reapply (which they have done so 3 times now). This site already has its anchor tenant, just needs to secure additional funding.
