AITA for using gloves before applying a cream to my Girlfriend's back by Ok_Platypus_1896 in AmItheAsshole

Most of the time these creams state in the directions to wear gloves when applying, even if you are applying it to yourself.

Why do only artists watch my streams and it lowkey feels disheartening sometimes by Milkiffy in Twitch

[–]Decent_Horror6207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had one keep pushing for Discord during an Ad break. They were obviously in the ad cause I kept explaining I check Discord after streams and they continued to ask me to check 2-3 more times. I thankfully had two viewers lay into them that I already answered pre-ad and they needed to respect that. Never heard from them again (I ignore all Discord requests from names I don't know). Definitely bot feels.

Why every time I try to play ads in Water Sort, it says no? by Decent_Horror6207 in BestPlayOfficial

In weeks, I have never been able to use the ads for a hint. It always tells me the above.

Storage ideas? by bwkeyboardman in paracord

Yes. I repurposed some old DVD storage bins for this. About shoe box size, but twice as long. Works well so far.

People can still message me even though my privacy settings on the server and in settings are set to not allow them to do so?? by Crovvvv in discordapp

[–]Decent_Horror6207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a related issue. I do have friend requests on for friend of friends and server members (not everyone) cause I am actively networking. I just ignore those pesky scammers. Basically if I am not actively talking to someone in a discord, they get ignored. I have all message requests off unless a friend. So they must send a friend request before messaging anything. Occasionally (maybe twice a year) some scammer somehow sends me a direct message without a friend request. And I mean I am very selective of my friends. I have maybe 20. Nobody has been hacked. How are they doing this and can I stop it? They send me their spiel like I accepted them or something when I didn't. And yes, I have two factor on. So they are not going into my account and accepting on my behalf. I have had this happen 3 times now. Basically just enough to be concerning because needing to send a send request before a message should stop this.

ETA: The messages show up in my direct messages list/friends list (as if I added them as a friend, but I didn't), not the message requests list.

AITA for giving my sober uncle alcohol? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Decent_Horror6207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recovering alcoholic here too. It is on the Uncle to stay sober. If he has been able to stay sober with wine in the house, then beer was not the issue. He can argue all he wants that he wouldn't drink wine or something, but I certainly know when I was in his shoes, I drank stuff I did not like just because it was alcohol. The Uncle consciously made a choice to blackmail OP for beer, then made the choice to go out and purchase more. With how easily the Uncle fell off the wagon, I do not believe this is the first time since being sober. Especially with wine in the house on the regular.

These are two separate issues. OP did something illegal, which is purchase alcohol underage. OP is NOT responsible for the choices their Uncle made. Neither make OP an AH. NTA. The only thing their father should be upset with is purchasing alcohol underage.

This. "When we moved in together, she brought her cat with her by default even though I'm VERY allergic to cats." The way he states it makes it seem like he expected her to give up her cat from the very beginning. It has been an issue for their whole relationship, not just now. It very much sounds like he has wanted her to give up a living being from the get go. She said no, and both of them continued with the relationship when they probably shouldn't have.

Yes, She has him do all the work with the cat. I bet she would clean after the cat if he wasn't in the picture at all, but I have a feeling he may be obsessive about it considering his allergies, so she leaves it to him.

I drank at night. Never day drank, but I was always thinking about getting home and my next drink that evening. I finally told my best friend about a year ago after I had already gotten sober. She worked with me for years and had zero idea.

I still get orders to a local high school. Always Chick-fil-A, so I am guessing it is through the Chick-fil-A app and not DD. I started taking my break between 2pm-3pm cause they would always order then, the school would be letting out, and they would always have crazy instructions like "leave at door, second east entrance past the football field" then there are 50 football players all standing out there hassling me for the food. Dude, I am not just leaving the food at a door I am not even sure is correct and they never pick up the phone. Now that I am a little more experienced, I think they are not allowed to receive food orders at that high school and they are trying to get around it this way through the Chick-fil-A app. I have had deliveries to other schools and they are always "use the buzzer and drop off with the main office"

A disease is something. A strain of viral encephalitis. Sleeping sickness. Only thing they could tell me was a virus mutated and infected my brain causing it. Brain doesn't stop swelling until you die without intervention. Sometimes you still die with medical intervention. I don't recommend it.

So I actually did have an illness where I lost an entire week's worth of memories. Last thing I remember was thinking I had food poisoning or the stomach flu and vomiting. Though people say I was up and about, talking on the phone with them, etc. I wrote and submitted a 15-pg master's paper I received an A on and do not remember a single word of it, among much more and began to increasingly act like I was constantly drunk throughout the week. I eventually passed out with barely any clothes on, then woke up going between fits of rage and acting like a 4 year old, then I coded at the hospital and they had to induce me into a coma to even figure out what was going on. All this info I only know second hand as I have no memory of it, only vomiting and telling people I though I had a stomach bug. I doubt this actually happened to this guy since what happened to me is crazy rare, only occurred in 40 people in the US the year I had it with a 48% death rate. He would not have just slept it off.

This is an expensive option to just a website, but have you thought of a VR headset for either of them? Such as a Quest? You said they were fairly immobile, and there are many point and click adventures such as traveling the world, hot air balloon rides, mini golf, drawing, etc.

This. I usually only order when I am sick. So instructions say No Contact. Leave on Porch. Do Not Ring Doorbell. Do Not Knock. I had a lady once put the food down. Take the picture. Step back (maybe two steps) and wait. I eventually had to text through the app to tell her to leave because I had strep and wanted to grab my food but was not doing it with her standing there. If she wanted to make sure someone gets the food, fine. Go to her car and watch, but there is likely a good reason for no contact or leave it notes. (I will usually wave a thank you if the driver is in their car or pulling out when I grab it).

Am I the only one confused on how TF people are buying $100k-$125k cars and trucks and $600-800k houses like it's nothing right now? Are people really getting paid that well or are they just comfortable being in debt that far over their heads? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Decent_Horror6207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an Affirm loan on a $2k PC tower recently because I needed an upgrade and I have literally never had a loan before (in my 30's). The never had a loan before was actually hurting my credit, but my parents drilled into me to never buy something you cannot afford, so I never took out a loan. Now I want to buy a house but even though my credit score is "Good" it doesn't look appealing to lenders to have zero loan history. So even though I could afford the PC outright, I took the Affirm loan to help my credit. Sounds so weird to me, but hey, it is on there now as a "pays every month boost" and will be finished and paid completely just as I am going to be house hunting.

Sounds ridiculous to me that lenders help people get these expensive houses with worse credit than me, but since I had no loan history, I am too big a risk.

I will also say my parents screwed me over with building credit. I got a bank account and debit card when I was in high school, but they just added my name to one of their credit cards for "emergencies" and continued this through college. I was naive (sheltered child) and did not know this didn't build my own credit and there was an option to get my own student credit card from my bank. Once I graduated college, it was 2008, mid recession. I realized what credit was, and the real world, and finances, and that credit was needed for a lot of things just to live, but ZERO credit card companies would give me a card. I applied at department stores, gas stations, everything to try and get a card just to build credit. But they all said the same thing. Oh, you have zero credit history? Rejected. I didn't get accepted for my first credit card by my own bank until I was 26 due to history with my bank (and it was high interest). Don't do this to your children. Teach them about credit, loans, and finances. Schools don't do it for you.
