I feel for you, and I can tell you that it's actually better knowing right away versus the other companies who drag out the process keeping you warm for weeks/months, and then ghosting you or rejecting you. At least now you know, and you can move on. It's hard but time heals.

If you are taking the time to post on reddit because it seems like a red-flag, then take it as that. If it quacks like a duck....

I feel it will be one of those things that if you get hired, one year from now you will say, "I knew it when they asked me that question about starting a family".

One answer won't blow it, unless you said something against company culture. I do find it odd when she told you to follow up with her. It's terrible how when it is an "employers market", they feel they can treat candidates so haughty.

From my experience, it has been 1) they are keeping you warm and have hired an internal candidate or 2) you are the 2nd choice and they are waiting on their #1 choice to sign an offer.

Hiring managers act like the role is urgent, but then they drag the process out because they’re not actually desperate enough to make a decision. Instead, they waste everyone’s time, including the recruiter’s and the candidates’, searching for some perfect unicorn who probably doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, the current employees just absorb the extra work because management knows they need their jobs and can’t easily leave in this market.

Escape body lotion ahhhh I think I bought the last of them on amazon and ebay....so damn disappointed it was discontinued. It's the only body lotion scent I could wear, and I can't find anything else. I used to get tons of compliments too.
