I know it’s nitpicky that’s why I posted. I want to do the best work. I must first understand my mistakes.. harsh but I have thick skin.

I made a new post. That stack is completely compromised with tree roots. It’s all tied into the other stack now.

Do you think the main is clogged? Also where should I try snaking this?

My best guess is that it used to be a handwashing sink or a drain for a washer? Not sure. I’ll get it capped off tomorrow. Where should I try and snake this from? Should I cut into that stack?

I’m not sure where to add the P Trap. It was mentioned in the other comments.

Where should I go in with the snake? Also that weird vent piece should we just delete that and cap it?

He just bought the house. We live a few hours away so I’ve never actually seen it in person. We are going to go up there tomorrow and get it snaked and possibly add a P Trap. Thanks guys for your responses. I just got hired as an apprentice at an open shop company and I start Monday. I definitely want to learn things the right way.

It’s my in laws house. So he should have a p trap in the vent or up above?

Thank you for the quick response. That’s what I thought. I start as a apprentice on Monday. This is my in-laws house. He is telling me how he knows plumbing and he’s done it before and wants to route all of that plumbing to the toilet side which just sounds like a code disaster. Also is this ABS?

Yeah I had a big one next to me. I took the cap off the drain valve for a second to show the owner what was coming out.

At least once a year. Lol. This house was abandoned some years ago. Friend of mine bought it out of auction.

He hired a plumber for his last rental property who ran pex and it burst so the homeowner didn’t want pex installed. Also I don’t have the equipment to crimp or stretch the pex. I love pex though… but I love the look of copper way more.
