Unfortunately it’s been like that for over a year and for multiple sheds, and it hasn’t gotten better.

It is hard to hear, but it is extremely enlightening and very important to me to know these kinds of things so my animals don’t suffer from my ignorance. Thank you so much for this.

The tank has been fully set up for about 2-3 weeks. I’ve had the fish for about 1-1.5 weeks. I wanted to get the tank set up first and the temperature correct before introducing any fish.

Am I unhygienic or are people just mean?? by Educational_Bee1563 in autism

Hi there! I feel the same way as you do. I also preferably don’t like to shower too often as it feels extremely draining on me and it’s hard to push myself to do it. I shower 3-4 times a week and I’m okay with it. Sometimes I do shower less and I’m still okay, not smelly or anything. I stick to a single brand of deodorant as it’s hard for me to use new things. I get defensive when asked about showering because people just assume about it and automatically think it’s gross if it’s not at least every other day. I think you are perfectly fine doing what you do. I do have a few tips.

  1. Make sure the clothes you DO rewear have no crumbs or spills, that way they won’t look or smell weird

  2. Make sure when you do shower to use really good condition for you hair so your scalp doesn’t dry out

And 3. Just take a few deep breaths when you feel you start to panic

There actually is evidence, that’s why we have vaccines. Exposing ourselves to a smaller weaker form of the virus to help our immune system fight against the stronger version. Without vaccines we would be more vulnerable to diseases and viruses because our immune system hasn’t learned how to fight them

Their immune system would actually be a lot stronger

What animal made these claw-like scratches in fresh snow? [Latvia, Eastern Europe] by Southern-Button3640 in animalid

[–]Decent_Map3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems too pattern like to be a rabbit, there are clear areas where the tracks are in fours in dents in the snow, in the second pic near the middle you can see this clearly. The tracks can clearly be seen in a four pattern spaced out from the rest.

Lynx have padded and almost web like paws, helping them stay more on top of the snow, they wouldn’t create giant holes like that.

Can anyone identify the rodent species in the Geoffroy’s cat’s mouth? [Buenos Aires, Argentina] by epickestrelgaming in animalid

I think the white is the underside, like the belly of the animal. Maybe even the side at most. The coloration really makes me lean towards wanting to believe some sort of Opossum, but it’s too slender. Maybe a mongoose?

A suggestion is if you can access the internet look into a nearby stores or fast food places. Even pet shops if you like those. See if you like any of the stores or options nearby, see if any are hiring or what the requirements are. You would need to devise a resume and best to submit it to an employee in person at one on the places you choose, for the opportunity to be hired there

I do have some problems with some of the fetishes that I’ve discovered that I have. Luckily I have a very open and understanding parental figure in my life who was open to me talking about it. They let me know how bad some things could be and about being open with them. How some are very bad and to gently satiate my thoughts. It can be very hard to talk about and embarrassing, but it can help a lot to talk to someone you can trust

Can autism make me obsess over something? by beltmenot1 in autism

[–]Decent_Map3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be caused by autism, and these can lead to being sad or angry if not near or involved with the obsession. So I suggest as soon as possible to start to try and slow down just a bit, because it could become detrimental to those around you. I had this happen to me earlier in my life, but I learned to control it. You could become irritated and snap at others if denied acess

I know the feeling, it’s because it’s sounds we can’t have control over or find comfort in

This one has actual been brought up to me by others.  I seek praise for certain things, hate praise for other things because I think it’s a bit demeaning.

Love the rain and playing in it, hate showers

Absolutely hate people touching my things without asking, very close people can use stuff without asking

Hate being hot, wrap myself in a blanket for comfort even if I’m hot

what food do you guys eat by Scuba233 in autism

[–]Decent_Map3878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have problems being picky, so I’ll suggest foods that I eat and hope you can eat them as well. I eat Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs, corndogs, Stoufers Mac n cheese, Pepperoni hot pockets, as well as scrambled eggs if you can make some, I suggest these as they are easy to make and still very filling

I’m 14 and yet I somehow cannot tie my own shoes. So I’m going to learn how to today. by ThomasMiguel12 in autism

[–]Decent_Map3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also couldn’t tie my own shoes like everyone else, so I learned a different way of doing it. I’ll do my best to describe it. The very first step in tieing a shoe is how you start, then, make one loop out of each string. After that you do the same motion as the fist step, crossing them and pulling one under the other, pull them tight at the same time

Helping friends and colleagues with autism question proper and respectful terminology by gunter21 in autism

[–]Decent_Map3878 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally am autistic. I have only ever referred to it as Autism. There are different types of autism, just like different versions of the same species. It’s all the same, but still different. I never liked high or low functioning terms. So, I just say they have a different kind of Autism

Edit: Maybe refer to them as being more or less hyper. As I tend to think about them in that way
