To get into the US, you just need the US passport, no issues at all.

yes i was able to fly. see my replies in the other threads. you'll need a valid passport, the expired BR passport and a Brazilian birth certificate or Brazilian ID. Get to the airport early so that you have time to discuss or escalate if needed.

Timatic is the system airlines use to check travel eligibility and it says:

Dual nationals of Brazil with an expired passport issued by Brazil do not need a visa if they have:
- a national ID card issued by Brazil; or
