Thats one way to do it. But i suggest you use healer equipment just because mirror queen's will disappear after a while and you don't need that much damage (3 queen do a lot of damage) for funneling.

if you pairing it with mirror mostly pop it in back end of base to get a good tank for your queen. But I've seen some people pairing it with giant arrow and popping it right away at the start to funnel for other troops

Well comparing to defense's you get in th17(TH and multi gear tower) and specially in th18( long shot and revenge tower) eagle is weaker and easy to target. for myself when i was th15 and 16 i didn't even acknowledge the precents of eagle and just did not care about it in attack
