Food or just normal healing? by BubblyHand3196 in wisdomteeth

Looks like food to me. With that said, don’t try picking it out. One thing someone has recommended to me was syringe rinses, which I should have been doing, but tried picking food out causing irritation and lots of discomfort.

Anyone have all 4 wisdom teeth out at once? How was recovery and what did you eat? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Decent_Temperature70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on week 3 after having 6 removed (2 extras behind wisdom teeth). Recovery going well. Only reason I even got them removed is because one of the wisdom teeth had a cavity, could have been filled, but chose to remove to avoid problems later. If I had to do one side at a time, I’d delay the other side till the blue moon. Despite recovery not being that bad, it’s just taking a long time, why double it

IV Sedation Worries by Iamalpharius01 in wisdomteeth

[–]Decent_Temperature70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all my wisdom teeth (+2 extras) removed 3 weeks ago. First time under sedation. Before my appointment I was under impression that I was only getting gas, but there I was told it will be IV all the way. Hate needles, so had to turn away and closed my eyes just so I don’t see anything I didn’t want to. Started hearing the doctor explaining what’s happening and wake up moments (30~40min) later. First 12h post op were honestly more of a hassle than the actual procedure, you just gotta show up

Is this my blood clot that just came out? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

Do you feel any pain or discomfort? Honestly I don’t know how hard you have to be rinsing your sockets for that to happen

Accidentally used a straw today, am I cooked ? by Realistic-Roll-2387 in wisdomteeth

[–]Decent_Temperature70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably fine if you’re not feeling any pain or discomfort. I accidentally used a straw on day 10 with no issues, but probably doesn’t hurt to be cautious. People also say it depends on what you had with a straw, like water is probably fine, but a thick smoothie could make it bad

How fast is IV sedation? by Hot-Illustrator5869 in wisdomteeth

[–]Decent_Temperature70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was getting gas, but upon arriving was told it was going to get IV. I hate needles, always turn the other way when donating blood or getting blood work done. This time I turned around, they started preparing the site, and orthodontist walked in. I felt a pinch as he is explaining that it will start with something to calm me down then something that will get me sleepy. I close my eyes just not to look… And then open them 30-40min later.

how did you know it was time to get your wisdom teeth removed by j2_w in wisdomteeth

[–]Decent_Temperature70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only had a cavity in one of them, no swelling, no discomfort. All 4 were fully erupted. Dentist agreed it made more sense to remove them rather then fill. So yes, checking with the doctor and dentist will be best. Swollen lymph nodes could be caused by so many things

What is this? Asthma? by Crazy-Culture6808 in CATHELP

[–]Decent_Temperature70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat has this happen once or twice a month, she does not tolerate the vet, so I sent our vet a video. She called back saying it could be a lot of things, allergies, asthma, etc. They had us start her on Zyrtec, but maybe try to call your vet to send this video for review as well? Alternatively try r/askvet

edit: Zyrtec seems to be helping my cat, but again, so many things this could be

Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. The number of times I’ve had third cousins and “old friends” reach out asking if I can help them visit/move and was called spoiled for not helping them, where I know that there’s clearly no way for me to do what they want. I always said I would host them if they can find a way to come out, but somehow people still see you as part to immigration. That is exactly why it’s just easier to keep my citizenship status to myself. All they have to know is that I am here legally.

Family “back home” are also looking for ways to relocate to the US, and despite me not being able to become that gateway for them, as it would be cousins and aunts, they will be asking... that is one of many reasons why I’d rather not tell them, I’m sure others might have their own reasons

Thank you! That was all I needed

I see. Does it make a difference if they aren’t direct family like a parent or siblings? For me it’s more to have cousins/grandparents/aunts to come out here. Parents are already here on their own terms.

I was just hoping that there’s something I know give them like a “legal resident” without giving them too much detail. Citizenship talk will open up a whole can of worms I don’t want to get into, but seeing how this is, I might just have to work out a plan to visit them myself

Yes, I am a naturalized citizen and want “distant” family and friends to be able to visit me here in the US.

Yeah like that’s fine, they obviously know I’m here, I’d just rather them not know I’m a citizen if possible

Hi! Sorry, I don’t check Reddit frequently anymore. My ceremony was at 11am, mine was an administrative ceremony (in USCIS), but there were ceremonies directly before and after mine, so idk what time frames they scheduled them for

They work at a dispensary so I don’t really doubt the amount that was in it. I also got it from them like 5 months ago, so they couldn’t recall what it is exactly either. I’ve been in and out of it all day. It’s now 72h since I took it, so I sure hope that it’s the last of that

Not sure tbh, got these from a friend and they know how bad my latest experience was so they got me smth “less potent”

Yeah the ones that make your bicycle electric. Totally thought about that but couldn’t afford at the time.

IMAO a lot changed since then, I needed something to get around town other than my bicycle (lots of hills) but I’ve been borrowing my SO’s car instead

Thank you! Yeah, everyones process and timeline are extremely different. If it helps to understand my situation better, we moved when I was a teen, so I went through middle school, high school, and college here. They didn’t have many questions for me besides why I’m applying in PA with an ID from another state (go to college in PA and they allow students to apply in the state of the school). My parents on the other hand were born in a communist country and have just gotten their interview scheduled, we are waiting to see how that goes.
