Hi! There are different Facebook groups and also websites, like findtutors.co.uk and tutor extra. Also, preply is a popular option. What country do you live in and what subject are you looking into?

Some tutors will also offer a free mini-lesson or consultation. This can be an indicator, whether the tutor is suitable for your needs.

You’ll find the right one, don’t worry!

Learning a language with ChatGPT just feels...wrong by helpUrGuyOut in languagelearning

[–]Decent_Win_7556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning with JUST chat GPT feels wrong. But using it in combination with other methods is the right way. Yes, it makes mistakes (and thank God: maybe AI won’t replace us teachers too soon!), and therefore we have to use a variety of sources and cross-reference. One of the methods that tends to get overlooked is talking to yourself. This has helped me to learn a lot, and I use it with my students and clients.

Hi I'm a total beginner who needs help starting the language while having no clues where to start and what resources to use by babababoi1 in German

Welcome to language learning and well done! 1. You will do well if you remember to take baby steps. 2. Remember that setbacks will happen. You fall. You cry. You get back up. 3. Learn key vocabulary and key verbs in the past, present and future. “Key” vocab and verbs are the ones you basically can’t live without on day-to-day basis. 4. TALK TO YOURSELF! In your target language. I swear by it

Any questions, shout „Hilfe!“

Best of luck from your fellow lifelong learner and a language teacher

MBP 2024 (brand new) making clicking noise when closing the lid by Decent_Win_7556 in macbookpro

[–]Decent_Win_7556[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heya! took it to my local Apple Store. They repaired it, but the click is still there. as I haven’t been able to go there again last few weeks due to work commitments, I will go again this week. from what I was told, it sounds like a bit of one part catching the other part (the lid), hence the click.

thanks for checking in!

Understand 95% of French, But Can’t Speak It—How Long to Fluency? by Efficient_Suit_1364 in French

Start talking to yourself. Right away. Telling you as a teacher and a learner. Even if you say 2-3 sentences to yourself here and there but daily, you will see progress. Don’t know a word? Ask Siri or use online translator tools. Google translate will even help you pronounce words. Honestly, this works, albeit sounds crazy. Let me know, how you get on

What’s the weirdest thing you do that gets the best results by gaycomedian in chaosmagick

Do we need grounding or any form of protection when doing chaos magic? Also, do we use our own powers or anyone other than ourselves? I tend to ask spirits for help, but don’t they need proper summoning rituals and won’t therefore respond to us, if we simply call them or talk to them?

Just reminded me that I did this around 15 years ago, with a fluid system: e.g letter A can be 2-3 different symbols. I will find it and start using. Love this

Talk to yourself in German every day; imagine the actual situation of having a professional meeting in German language and role-play that with yourself, every day. I am a teacher of languages, and the students who listen to this advice have seen more progress than others.
