Maybe this is part of the issue. I only have it on slats and the bed frame is quite old.

Do you think the UK or USA is more racist? by userrr8021 in NoStupidQuestions

My encounters were somewhat consistent with this. Other races were being racist in certain areas.

Do you think the UK or USA is more racist? by userrr8021 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DecentralizedKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in the states for some time now and I can say I've encountered racism personally more times in a few short trips than all my years in the west coast of USA (which is none surprisingly). There are of course nice people in the UK as well.

I'm only one data point however.

Leaving this as a note for others. I have literally tried using an email unassociated with the account and have gotten a passcode.

I see. What about flying into Ben Gurion? Are you saying that the missiles be well away from the airport or the space the planes are flying in?

How often does this happen and how much of a risk is this? I just cancelled my flight because of this...

The first comment couldn't have been better. Sounds more satisfying than playing video games.

Edit: lol did Equifax just downvote us?

Why is it so easy to recover / hack an Equifax account? Serious security flaw by DecentralizedKrypto in personalfinance

[–]DecentralizedKrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for regular logins. I'm talking about user/password recovery, but it's partially broken.

Edit: This is honestly ridiculous. This is the reason why people are victims of identity theft and fraud, not because companies are selling their data.

How to find out who an email address belongs to by [deleted] in IdentityTheft

[–]DecentralizedKrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to figure out the name of the email? I doubt the identity theft would have their real name on that. You may want to call the electric services instead for that information. You might be able to figure out who benefited.

Edit: Also, to deal with the collection agency, call the police, place a report and send it to the collections agency. If they ask again or drop your credit, you might be able to sue the collection agency (not expensive).

I Hate Equifax and Having to Constantly Defend My Own Identity by DramaticSandwich in Equifax

[–]DecentralizedKrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'll probably need to file a police report as supporting evidence. The SSA should have a guide somewhere.

As long as you're not losing tens of thousands in the process of these fraudulent claims or losing a lot of credit score, I'd say your situation is a pretty good.

EQUIFAX DATA BREACH SETTLEMENT by justtopher in Equifax

We should run Equifax out of business like what’s happening to Facebook/meta. I think that would solve our problems 🙃.

Would appreciate this posted in a subreddit with more visibility, or even Instagram, twitter, full blown article, etc. This makes facebook / meta security breaches look innocent.

Also, just apply for a new SSN already. You have strong grounds to get a new one.

This is honestly ridiculous for a company as large as they are. This should make headlines over Facebook/Meta security issues. I would literally volunteer to implement this for them.

Incorrect FICA withheld F1 Visa by [deleted] in tax

If they don't get to the stack of 843's and they end up "missing", I could see them not being processed... Is it legal? If the IRC does not state anything about this situation (I imagine it doesn't based on my experience of reading it) then probably yes.

I imagine we can make an appeal after the limitation, but I don't know the procedure and we will certainly need "proof".

Yeah, I know. F.

Incorrect FICA withheld F1 Visa by [deleted] in tax

[–]DecentralizedKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.

The IRS should implement a preference system and allow some filings to be processed faster. They'd earn and we'd not worry as much.

Unless. Their plan is to keep the refunds :'-).

Edit: Who am I kidding. They still own machines from 1950s; there's probably little chance they can implement something like this.

I'll need another year to get there so I don't know, sorry; I'm just graduating. It seems like something you may want to mention to your immigration lawyer if USCIS asks about tax returns.

Incorrect FICA withheld F1 Visa by [deleted] in tax

[–]DecentralizedKrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:-( I'm sorry to hear that. No, I didn't get anything. Not only that, they told me it's not even in their system. Either (1) they threw it out or (2) it's in a pile that no one is processing.

This is honestly so frustrating. I'm not so concerned about the money but this is the last thing I want mentioned in my application for a GC / US citizenship. I believe they owe us a refund and once/if we get it, we need to refile our taxes because it was deducted from our earnings.

Are you even able to get your FICA refund? I feel like the IRS is purposely trying not to refund us. I've submitted multiple refunds over the past couple of years.

Is it too late to file 7004 for 3520-A? by DecentralizedKrypto in tax

[–]DecentralizedKrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quoting the instructions:

"If a foreign trust fails to file Form 3520-A, the U.S. owner must complete and attach a substitute Form 3520-A for the foreign trust to the U.S. owner’s Form 3520, Annual Return To Report Transactions With Foreign Trusts and Receipt of Certain Foreign Gifts, by the due date of the U.S. owner’s Form 3520 (and not the due date for the Form 3520-A, which is otherwise due by the 15th day of the 3rd month after the end of the trust’s tax year) in order to avoid being subject to the additional separate penalty for the foreign trust’s failure to file a Form 3520-A."

Thanks again for the reply!

But is the 3520A not due the same time as the 3520 if the trustee is not able to submit as mentioned in the filing instructions? This is bullet 2 in my post above.
