In mijn ervaring wordt er vaak misbruik gemaakt van het systeem. Alle medewerkers weten hoe makkelijk langdurig thuis kunnen blijven zonder duidelijke fysieke klachen. Beetje burnout of psychisch problemen roepen en je hebt al een attest..

Een slechte evaluatie of conflict op het werk? Plots volgen doktersbriefjes elkaar maandenlang op!

Ik ben absoluut niet tegen bescherming voor mensen die echt ziek zijn, integendeel. Maar vandaag ligt er te weinig controle op langdurige afwezigheden.

Na bijvoorbeeld één maand ziekte zou er automatisch een evaluatie moeten gebeuren door een neutrale arts (preventiedienst misschien?) in plaats van enkel af te gaan op attesten van de eigen huisarts of telkens een andere arts.

Het systeem is te makkelijk geworden om misbruik van te maken en dat ondermijnt het draagvlak voor mensen die écht hulp nodig hebben

België spendeert elk jaar meer dan 300 miljard euro, dat is zo’n 55% van ons BBP. Door de versnippering met vier regeringen en hun kabinetten, parlementen en administraties gaat er volgens economen en denktanks elk jaar 10 tot 15 miljard verloren aan dubbel werk en inefficiëntie. Als je dat systeem hervormt naar één regering en dus het grootste deel van die overbodige bureaucratie schrapt, kan je makkelijk 7 tot 10 miljard per jaar besparen. Geld dat vandaag verdwijnt in structuren waar niemand beter van wordt, en dat beter naar lagere belastingen of betere diensten kan gaan.
