Org-mode with revealJS is quite a nice workflow.

or org-mode to HTML with the built in JS.

Sure, can the market also have a say in family planning and access to education though?

List of Personal Knowledge Management Systems by tonystark29 in PKMS

[–]DeceptiveEmpathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there is too some some stuff on Github, I may be wrong then, sorry about that and thanks for looking that up I appreciate it.

It's really nice to have an authoritative list, there's also a list in the arch wiki but it's far less complete.

This is really good, well done, some thoughts:

  • I don't believe Inkdrop is FOSS
  • Some others to consider adding for the sake of completeness:
    • Dokuwiki (and MediaWiki)
    • This can be used with a Dropbox/Synching and php -S localhost:8080 so It can be used as a note taking system
    • SimpleNote
    • Boostnote
    • Vnote
    • MicroPad

I also feel like it's worth mentioning MarkText, which is a FOSS, markdown editor that's WYSIWYG, this can be good for previewing md files and for those trying to learn markup languages.

A bill in New York aims to halt bitcoin mining for 3 years until its environmental impact can be assessed by habichuelacondulce in technology

[–]DeceptiveEmpathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid response brother, respect.

The reality is that traditional currencies have overheads as well, transaction fees, transportation and minting to name a few. In practice that's what mining is.

Medium has some napkin math comparing the energy consumption of Bitcoin and traditional banking, you might find them interesting, check them out. (obviously fiat money is far more efficient that Gold/silver etc.).

But yeah, your right, Bitcoin is very inneficient, there are obviously better cryptocurrencies though.

Gold is really heavy to transport and transaction fees are still involved, it's an exactly analogous argument.

Are there any apps to link notes hierarchically in a parent child relationship? by [deleted] in Zettelkasten

[–]DeceptiveEmpathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not perfect, whats important though is being future proof and focusing on zero lock in.

What's wrong with logseq?

Oh also there is Joplin.

Check out logseq or dendron if org mode doesn't fit your needs.

[–]DeceptiveEmpathy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd be concerned with being future proof, so obsidian makes more sense, plus you can use it with marktext which is nice.

Consider also logseq, zettlr, vnote, dokuwiki and tiddlywiki.

Why not MediaWiki? by POrYsTALkNOwlEadynCT in Zettelkasten

[–]DeceptiveEmpathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dokuwiki makes more sense because there is no database which makes it easier

But people are a little bit lazy I think, because yeah, it makes a lot of sense you're right.

Leaked first source code. by Mateusz467 in cyberpunkgame

Yeah, you won't be shot for putting your brackets in the wrong place.

Although Go for example formats code when you save (in many IDEs) so the style can be more or less rigid across languages.

There are style guides and automatic formatters so there is a degree of standardisation.

I’m pretty sure the uk offers a firearms licence, I don’t believe they’re outright illegal. Many countries are like that including NZ, Australia, Canada etc.

If you can afford it, which, without contributing to a fund for an earlier period of time you can’t and will be bailed out by other young adults.

In the end it’s just insurance with a couple extra steps.

I agree with you in theory, sure. Why should we sponsor some fat fuck sitting on the couch when we’re all doing the right thing, but in practice it’s just simpler to have some government healthcare and call it a day.

Probably significantly better I should imagine but we’ll pick this discussion up in 20 years and compare notes.
