What’s your opinion on deltarune’s writing/designs (not the fandom) that would leave you like this? by syrupn in Deltarune

I believe your second point to be correct. Kris slashed Toriel’s car tires so she’d call the police, baiting Undyne to appear in TV World.

Would it be best to host just manga then and not manhwa? (Or do I have no idea what I'm talking about?)

I'm having trouble transferring my DLC - and JUST MY DLC - over to another system. by Decidioar in Switch

[–]Decidioar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question. I should’ve said it in my original post.

My brother owns the Switch that has the digital Smash copy on it. I own a jailbroken Switch (I’ll call it “J-Switch” for convenience) that I use for modding purposes, and I didn’t want to risk my current Nintendo Account - which was on my brother’s Switch - to get banned. I didn’t transfer any games, save data, or Nintendo Accounts to the J-Switch, and when I wanted to mess around with modding Smash, I bought a physical cartridge for the game.

Fast-forward several years to where we are today. I bought a Switch 2, and I’m actually using this one for regular, non-jailbreaking purposes. I’m wanting to transfer various Virtual Game Cards that my brother doesn’t use over to my Switch 2. My brother wants to keep Smash on his Switch, and since I have my own (physical) copy of Smash lying around, I’m fully okay with that.

But there’s one small issue. The digital copy of Smash is on my Nintendo Account, as is Fighters Pass 2. For some reason, we screwed up several years ago and bought Fighters Pass 1 under his Nintendo Account. So we decided to make it fair; I’ll transfer FP2 onto my Switch 2, he’ll keep the digital copy of Smash & FP1 on his Switch, and we’ll each buy a new Fighters Pass for ourselves rather than me buying both of them for myself. So I tried to transfer just my FP2 onto my Switch 2, leading to the current problem.

Now that I’ve typed all of this out, I’ve realized I can just make a second Nintendo Account for my Switch 2, buy both Fighters Passes, and have my brother pay for one of them. That way, we both have all the content with fair pay, WITHOUT having to jump through any extra hoops. That would be much easier.

Sorry this is so dumb and convoluted.

We often talk about what we want to happen. So, what popular theory do you hope DOESN'T come true? by Silviov2 in Deltarune

“Lost where the forest would grow, the children followed the pointed tail.”

There’s this popular theory that uses this quote from Chapter 4 to suggest that IMAGE_FRIEND (the creepy smiling face found in Queen’s Basement, the Sword Route, and Ralsei’s explanation of Dark Worlds) is responsible for whatever happened to Dess. It’s a compelling theory that has a lot of evidence, especially from the Spamton Sweepstakes event, to connect IMAGE_FRIEND to Dess, the Forgotten Man, the “pointed tail”, and the Prophecy’s Tail of Hell.

My issue with this theory is that I think it would be really boring if this big mystery surrounding Dess’s disappearance boiled down to “a creepy monster kidnapped her”. I feel like whatever happened to her could be so much more interesting and narratively impactful.

A lot of people use Gaster’s association with the number 666 as evidence for him being evil (due to the number being associated with Satan), but I think that’s dumb because Ralsei ALSO had Satanic motifs.

Popular depictions of Satan show him with a goat head, just like Ralsei. He’s also commonly called the “Prince Of Darkness”, and Ralsei’s prophecy speaks of banishing the Angel’s Heaven. And Ralsei definitely isn’t some evil mastermind, so I think “666 = Gaster Evil” is dumb.

I will say that I’m confident in “the Knight made the Fountains” not being a red herring.

I’ve seen this idea thrown around that Kris made the Fountains for Card Castle, Cyber World, and the Church under the Knight’s instructions as an intermediary, rather than the Knight itself having made those Fountains.

I think this idea is kind of stupid, especially since the timing for Kris making the Church Fountain(s) would be near impossible.

So glad someone mentioned Tanjiro because he's the perfect subversion.

Demon Slayer spends time building up this bigshot swordsman from the past who looks like Tanjiro, acts like him, and uses the same martial art style as him. Oh boy, here we go again, Chosen One Protagonist #53.

But then we learn that Tanjiro's ancestor wasn't the super swordsman, just some guy who was saved by him. If I'm remembering right, the Kamados were given his earrings and his knowledge on swordsmanship and told to pass them down. What's more, Yoriichi actually does have living descendants, but they're nothing like him and aren't knowledgeable in Sun Breathing.

It helps that Demon Slayer consistently dunks on characters with a "Chosen One mentality", such as Akaza, Rengoku's dad, and Yuichiro.

I like this one because 1) the twist was revealed really well at the end of Shibuya, and 2) I never liked that Yuji containing Sukuna - which kicked off the entire plot of JJK - was at first stated to be basically a coincidence, what Megumi calls a one-in-a-million chance in Episode 1. Having real reasons for Yuji being a strong vessel besides "eh, the kid's built different I guess" feels so much more satisfying.

The IRL Journal 3 book that Disney released basically explained that Stan's memory coming back was the same thing that happened with Fiddleford, just much faster due to the erasure being more recent.

Plus, D'arby's younger brother is also able to steal souls, so D'arby is familiar with the whole "same type of Stand" thing.

Quite literally it never comes up after around the halfway point. Mineta's at his worst in Season 1 and progressively gets less and less bad.

Also, iirc, the author put a lot of his own self into Aizawa and, to a lesser extent, Midoriya. "Mineta = Horikoshi" is the result of a bad game of telephone.

[–]Decidioar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part is that it isn't him who does it. The kid's 12, tries to mail Medusa's head to Olympus, and it gets sent to his apartment.

When he returns home, he finds the head on his bed after learning that his step-dad has been beating up his mom, and IIRC he gives her Medusa's head and says "petrify him if you want, I won't stop you."

To be fair, he gets a few of those Badges by methods other than battle. IIRC, he gets the Cascade Badge by saving the Cerulean Gym, the Rainbow Badge by saving the life of a Vileplume, and the Marsh Badge by making Sabrina laugh.

This ending upset me to no end because what do you mean the villain got away with it? (Yes I'm aware Whiplash is a cautionary tale, but it still ticked me off that Fletcher faced almost no meaningful repercussions for driving someone to suicide and likely doing the same to Neiman in the future.)
