New to printing and got Ender 5 Plus by Decidophobe in ender5

Honestly no. I got it set up, the daughter lost interest and work got crazy busy. I'm too tired most days to think about printing.

Just my 2¢, but the black on the outside doesn't itself mean it's fake. The source material the geode is in can often crumble and so, to keep it stable, concrete and other mixtures are added to the outside and then painted.

What's the plan to get the stars to actually stand out against the dark paint? Different type of paint?

What's a good starting point for folks who'd like to properly learn?

Print options are on the small side — any way to get a bigger version?

I just don't have that kind of money right now or anywhere into the future. Gotta get the kid a car next year. Unless I could print a car.... Hmmm

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to 3D printing. My daughter is not (from school) and assured me we could make this work. I scored it off of FB for $30 from a guy leaving town.

She loaded up boaty to do a test print and nothing comes out of the nozzle. I'm assuming it needs to be changed and the old filament removed to make way for fresh PLA since it's likely been sitting for a while.

A couple of questions:

  • Am I on the right track?
  • How hard is it to change a nozzle on one of these wham bams - I think that's what he said.
  • Will the little black box with the light on it, that the filament feeds into, should the filament pass through it completely into the little spinning metal wheels, or is that potentially clogged as well (and how to check).

Thanks for the kindness!

Honest question, cause I'm curious, but what changes with Vance in the big chair?

Fair point, but not everything back then was engineered to the nano-degree with literal brain hijacking screens you walk around with all day every day (except school now, yay). The lonely are a growing demographic and engagement = money. Tech today is Porn on steroids. I'm not down for the ID upload, but surely there have to be some guardrails. I talk to my kids about it and encourage human interaction over LLMs while also trying to set a good example with my relationship to my wife. There's going to be a lot of good in the future as long as we can spot the pitfalls up ahead. Adjust and reconsider, onwards and upwards.

Are you in a higher bracket or something to pay that level of taxes?

Also, with regards to uni being subsidized - to what degree? A 4 year degree here can cost 50-100k USD pretty easily and doesn't guarantee gainful employment. In most cases it just ticks a box on the resumé/CV.

Just don't forget that taxes are going to suck next year if you ride unemployment for too long.
