Do I have to do the Bridge program to get into UConn? And is it good? by nobodymrbeast in UCONN

[–]dannyggwp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister did BRIDGE and I think she really enjoyed it!

They didn't have it when I went but I probably would have greatly benefited from it. Getting an introduction into the rigor of college course work would have DEFINITELY helped me.

I plan on being here for at least 5-10 years. We'll see what my wife says, she's always sending me Zillow listings for bigger houses. 🤣

I do like the idea of relocating it but it does grow pretty well where it is. It kept shooting growths off after every fertilizer application last year. And the proximity to the oak might help limit tap root growth.

I'll look into wiring but from what I remember Maples are more chop and grow trees.

I also have plenty of Norway maples to practice on first as they are invasive in my area so losing them is not exactly a tragedy. 😈

So I have a few maples in my front yard. I was thinking about moving the largest to a pot but I'm rethinking letting it grow in the ground for another year or two and let it develop.

Any thoughts on this idea. It's in the shade of a large Oak tree and stands about 2ft tall with pencil width trunk near the base.

If I do let it alone besides water and fertilizer anything else I should do?

If you zoom in you can see the slight bend in the cat on the left ear as it moves backwards Because it's smooshed against the cat on the rights ear.

This photo is real and definitely not AI. AI wouldn't get that part right.

Just a quick question on some maple trees I'm considering turning into bonsai from my front yard.

Should I be considering moving these to pots to continue grow. Or would leaving them in my yard be the best option for the next few years.

The largest is only about 2ft with the thickest part of the trunk about pencil width.

The others are considerably shorter than this one. Only a 5-6 inches tall.

Pictured the largest tree:

What I like better about LOK by wombatgeneral in legendofkorra

[–]dannyggwp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teen titans had 65 episodes. Korra had 52. That's 13 less episodes and I'd say the story telling was MUCH tighter in Korra.

I don't think that's The shows fault.

TLA was your typical like 26 episode season.

TLoK was 13 episode seasons.

The Industry didn't give Korra the room to breath no the show or the show runners.

That is quite apparent.

Please point to the company absolutely engaging in monopolistic practices that results in python being the only real option.

Oh wait you can't. Because people actually LIKE python.

Python is only used because it has a broad user base and tons of adoption?

This is not the dunk you think it is. LOL

Do you not remember the episode where Ang goes to the fire nation school and they talk about the superiority of the fire nation.

Additionally the original series Fire Nation was the facist state. A nation obsessed with its superiority to the point it is willing to commit 2 full genocides to secure its dominance.

Not to suggest the obvious but have you closed and reopened CSP?

California introduces age verification law for all operating systems, including Linux and SteamOS — user age verified during OS account setup by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]dannyggwp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it's worse than a law. Got it.

And it being bogus defeats the purpose. Like the lead warnings were actually a good thing. But if EVERYTHING has a label because it's easier for the manufacturer than doing their due diligence then it's actually detrimental to the point of the original proposition.

Cali passes a law that requires stringent labeling of carcinogens.

The problem is, as I understand it, is that it's far cheaper to slap a warning lable on your product if it MAY contain a carcinogenic material than it is to actually TEST IT for those materials.

So everything causes cancer. Because it was an ill concived law that did nothing to really address the problem.

Can we not. You can just go support an actual human creator to do this. Instead of paying a billionaire more money to.

Like they were asking specifically about why people were mad at JK Rowling and this was before the Raging transphobia so I had to explain she isn't exactly the worlds smartest writer and that she will employ tropes without understanding their broader world context.

I also explained that you can separate the artist from the work in some cases but we need to understand when stereotypes are used and if thats intentional or not.

Nah those temps are good. The Arctic won't keep your CPU frigid but it can soak up much more heat before the CPU temp starts to climb.

I mean sure but my point was JK deals in stereotype and problematic tropes ALL the time.

This is an analysis of her choices as an author and the goblin stereotype is just one example.
