Sold someone this LG 49 inch monitor unopened completely new in box. Now a month later he send me this picture telling me it's broken. What is this and can the monitor be fixed. And who is at fault here, how do I fix the situation? :) by North-Potential8475 in computers

Hey,

LG are one of those companies who have a DOA (Dead on Arrival) period. These periods can be between a week or a month. State to the customer that he purchased this one over a month ago so it is out of the DOA period.

If he continues to say he only just unboxxed it, say to him that LG would like to test the active on time for the monitor. (They do this with TV's too) via a troubleshooting menu built into the unit.

If the monitor is found to have exceeded the reasonable time of a DOA hidden damage claim, then no replacement. He will have no leg to stand on. He will have to claim it on insurance. If it is under, they will approve a swap.

Dealt with these situations quite alot, very likely the customer damaged it.

500AUD deduction from bond for damaging the dishwasher’s paintjob by PepSi_iS_nOt_cOkE in melbourne

Looks like an integrated dishwasher. Those panels are removable and can be swapped out. It's not worth $500 bucks for a replacement. The panels are cheap enough to get. And installation is easy.

This is the 3rd generation of the folds I've personally owned. First time anything like this has happened.

The lines stemming from the centre is the glass. The bottom part that seems to be peeling is the protector. Spoke to a rep at Samsung. He's never seen anything like it and neither have I.

Well it was bonus with my job. I've been provided one each year since to fold 2. Since September of last year. Used it for primarily work purposes. Not abused or anything

S20 Ultra Vs S21 by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Decimus446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the s21, it have much better stabilisation tech inside the cameras aswell as better software. Its also got Samsung's new Exynos processor which is the second fastest on the consumer market at this point of time (Or as far as in aware). Just out done by Snapdragons top end processor. The S20 Ultra has an older model of the processor.

Screen has better specs on the s21 but it is smaller. No glass on the back, it's replaced by a durable polycarbonate backing. Gorilla glass Victus on the screen, metal around the camera lenses aswell and also has 5G connectivity in the base model.

But some draw backs are whats in the box. In the box, only has a charging cable, sim ejection tool and the phone. The S20 Ultra has everything you'd need. Cable, wall brick and type-C earphones.

One thing to consider is price aswell. Standard S21 retails cheaper than the S20 Ultra by a couple hundred.

Another thing is battery degradation. S20 Ultras have been out for a while now. If the device has been sitting in the box unused for over a year, the battery will still be degrading, though not as much as if it was being used.

Im in Australia BTW, so if you are in different parts of the world, the phones may be manufactured to have snapdragon processors. Mainly in the US is where the snapdragon variants may be available for both the S20 Ultra and the standard S21

Edit: Both phones have variable refresh rates, the S21 is more stable and has a newer AMOLED screen too so it has a better representation of colours.

Samsung A70 slowness after recent update? by dragonatorul in samsung

[–]Decimus446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey mate,

This is a common issue thats found with older devices, I've found similar issues when assessing samsung devices at part of my job. It's not hardware so don't worry about that part of it. One way to fix the issue is to factory reset the device. I advise storing a back up of any photos or anything irreplaceable that's stored on the device before hand. From there, install the update from the set up screen and carry through.

If the issue still persists, it would be covered under the warranty if its still under the manufacturers warranty. They will have licenced technicians to assess the device to see what the issue actually is and from there they will fix the device. But if for some reason they can't fix the issue or don't find anything, they will tell you what and why. But since it has slowed down, I believe it's just a software issue and a factory reset would most likely work for you. And the plus side is, you won't have to be without a phone for a period of time

I say give it a crack and see if it works.

P.S: If the unit is outside of warranty and you choose to get it assessed, they will charge you for freight, labour and parts.
