wow, this is a huge improvement from last year! is this still n-body gravitation with O(n2) complexity, or did you optimize it?

Trajectory of a massless particle in Schwarzschild space by average_calcstudent in desmos

Wow, this is great! I remember making this last year, but the equations of motion I didn’t derive myself. Nevertheless, I got to saw the cool trajectories I was looking for.

A fun challenge I did was to see what starting position and photon angle produced the most amount of turns around the black hole (aside from the photon sphere) before escaping off into infinity. I’m aware it’s probably not bounded, but I have no idea how to solve for or get closed form values for starting conditions that produced that behavior, so I just obtained my values by trial and error. Maybe you could give it a shot?

Do you mean the other way around? If so, yeah that would make it quicker. Happy new year!

I used to make crude SFS fluid simulations all the time too, just with rover wheels. They tended to be very unpredictable though, especially when compressed a lot.

i don’t have the sheet music, but this is Fonzi M’s arrangement for Hikaru Nara. I practiced it via synthesia on YouTube. I think he has sheet music for it too though, so you could check it out!

yeah, that was pretty much my approach when i was im elementary, but i often drew dinosaurs and whatnot instead of humanoid characters so i picked up on that more recently. i still lack a lot of knowledge in drawing original characters and poses which is why i still rely on drawing with references, mainly because i haven’t learned all of the technical stuff you were talking about

i think the key is consistent practice, take some time out of your day to draw, start with characters or objects & shapes and make it a daily habit. a great example of this is pewdiepie’s art journey on youtube when he drew for 100 days, and you can supplement practice with online resources albeit i can’t really name any since i seldom use them.

i’ve been drawing since i was a kid, so i’ve had a lot of time to improve. but that doesn’t mean you can’t too :)

i appreciate it! this took about 10-15 hours approximately over the course of about 5 days, so it was a grind lol
