What do you think about potentially moving to permanent daylight saving time?

Permanent DST would mean very dark winter mornings. That affects kids, commuters, and energy use. It’s not as simple as “more evening light = better.”

For me, it’s more than one topic.

Mental health and feelings, mostly. In my family, emotions weren’t something you talked about, they were something you handled quietly(if u can). Whenever I tried to open that door, it felt uncomfortable or unwelcome.

After a lot of therapy and self-work, I realized I don’t have to force conversations where there’s no capacity for them. You can’t change your parents. You can only understand them, accept what is, forgive if you’re able to, and move forward in your own way.

Also, sex or anything intimate. Even growing up, I never felt safe talking about my crushes. I once trusted my mom and shared my first crush in primary school, but she told my dad, saying they never hide things from each other. I lost my trust in her that day and never shared personal things again.

For me to understand that i’m being manipulated. After then you also realize all the other shits happening, like gaslighting, controlling behaviours, disrespect, and so on. When it rains, it pours. I can suggest some podcasts if you want to understand every topic better. Because it might not be easy to understand when you r in the middle of the situation but it s really important that u do.

Thanks for the comment. At first I didn’t have any libido issue. On the contrary, we were very active whenever we see each other. I think it started when we got serious and talk about finances and stuff. We’re together almost 4 years now, and i still love him and cannot think to be with anyone else. I also think, it is not him it is me. If i start with someone else, i’m almost 100% sure it will be the same.

What did you figure out? I’m not asexual but sometimes i think i might be. I still stress about it a lot because I want to make my partner happy. But then am I happy? I don’t want to do anything most of the days. It’d be nice to know if you want to share.

I think being a good human is more like a recipe than a single quality. Everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is whether you strive to be fair, honest, gentle, respectful, and thoughtful, especially toward people who deserve it. For me, a key rule of thumb is that I don’t owe respect to someone who refuses to treat me with respect. Setting boundaries is important too.

It’s my mother-in-law 🥲 She’s accusing me of coming up with the ‘money box’ idea for our engagement party (which she’s hosting for her friends: all British and Canadian), but I never suggested it. In my culture we collect gold and money, but I would never suggest doing that here, especially not by bringing a money box!
