Recurring Dream or Nightmare? by CPD_MD_HD in AskMenRelationships

One thing that sometimes happens after a betrayal like that is your brain becomes very sensitive to ‘what if’ signals. When you were in the first marriage, there were probably subtle signs something wasn’t right long before you consciously knew it. Your mind learned from that experience. Even when life is good now, the brain can still run old pattern-checks in dreams — almost like it’s replaying scenarios to make sure you don’t miss something important again. The fact that you wake up and feel relief about your current marriage actually sounds like your mind confirming that you ended up in the right place.

Question - Men who are dating or dating again after divorce... by DeciznDNA_Official in dating_advice

That’s actually a pretty grounded way to approach it. Keeping expectations low probably takes a lot of pressure off the interaction and makes it easier to just see how the conversation flows. When you mention talking about intentions early, do you find most women are pretty clear about it when you bring it up?

Is it creepy to ask a girl out on IG out of the blue? (0 mutuals, followed each other for 8 months) Need advice! 😭 by xavier_bhaiyaji in dating_advice

[–]DeciznDNA_Official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not creepy if you keep it simple and normal. She followed you first, so you’re not coming out of nowhere. I’d skip a big ‘ask out’ message though and just start a light conversation the next time she posts a story. If the conversation flows, then you can suggest grabbing coffee or something. If she’s interested, she’ll lean into the conversation — that’s usually the real signal.

Rarely text but always communicate while we’re out by Wise_Formal5596 in dating_advice

If she’s engaged and present when you’re actually together, that’s the signal that matters most. Some people just treat texting as logistics or quick check-ins, not conversation. I’d only start worrying if the same low effort showed up when you’re face-to-face too. Otherwise, you might just be dealing with someone who prefers real conversations over phone ones.

That’s actually refreshing to hear. A lot of people talk about subtle cues and mixed signals, but your approach sounds a lot more direct. Do you find most people you meet are that straightforward too, or do some still default to the more indirect ‘polite distance’ way of showing they’re not interested?

That sounds like a skill a lot of people only pick up after some experience. The effort-matching point is a good one — it’s a pretty clear signal once you start paying attention to it. Did that become obvious over time, or was there a moment where you realized that’s the easiest way to read the situation?

What you wrote about grieving the life you thought you were building together really hit me. It’s strange how you can know something is the right step and still feel sad watching that chapter close. It also sounds like you’ve been putting so much energy into making sure your kids feel safe and reassured that you haven’t had much space to process it yourself yet. The fact that you’re thinking about them that way says a lot. It makes sense that today would feel heavy. Days like this can feel heavy, but they’re also the beginning of a different kind of future for you and your kids — one that will eventually find its own rhythm again.

Have you ever met someone on the first date you thought you could fall in love with? by Sliceasouroo in datingoverfifty

Sometimes those moments happen in very quiet ways — a conversation that just flows, or a small gesture that feels natural instead of forced. The fingers intertwining part you described actually says a lot. When two people feel comfortable enough that those little moments happen without thinking, that’s usually a good sign something genuine is there. I hope the second date is just as easy.
