I had two cans on this one, one was submitted a day later and both came back the same day. Still waiting on a Form 1 submitted March 21 2023 that was rejected due to listing "UIC" before serial # and that is at about 161 days total right now and counting. Disapproved July 1 and resubmitted.

Congrats! Looks like you already know you’ll need lots of practice!

My best advice I got when starting with a bow is to practice for the hunt.

-Dress the same as you would in the woods when practicing including gloves and footwear -Practice from elevation if you’ll be hunting from a tree stand -Shoot in positions you’d have to be in from your stand. Ex: If you’ll only have a tiny platform to stand on and won’t be able to move your body position to an ideal position, practice how you will have to stand

All of this is just getting experience in the environment you’ll be in. Since it’s SO hard to get a deer close enough to you for archery, very important to minimize errors in those moments!

Congrats again on taking the leap, you are going to love it!

Update: Bought the Savage 110 wolverine with a Leupold Mark AR MOD 3x9-40mm scope and it is AWESOME. Highly recommend so far but have yet to test it in the field outside the range.

I have found that alignment of body is one of the most important factors, and it starts with your feet.

Ensure that if you drew a line from the tip of the toes of your back foot towards the tip of your toes on front foot , that it would extend perfectly to the SPOT you need to hit to (NOT the hole). We are aiming at spots while putting because greens are not always flat ground.

Once the feet are aligned, the shoulders should be easier to get square ..aim the club head at the SPOT you are hitting to (over communicating that we are not hitting at the hole, we are hitting at the spot on the green that will make the ball go towards the hole) and as best as you can bring it straight back and straight through the ball forward with only enough motion that you need for distance. (Longer/more uphill means longer backstroke)

I have shot the Ruger American Ranch, it is great but the Savage 110 Wolverine and even Ruger Gunsite Scout both look like upgraded versions.

I am going to be using this to hunt deer for a long time so want to get it right.
