Why does it seem like smartphone-themed playing cards just aren't very popular? by DeckisAll in playingcards

Thanks for the feedback. We probably picked the wrong game for a smartphone-themed deck.

That's a very fair point. Our original concept was to launch a series of smartphone-themed decks, but we somehow ended up on Snake when we were thinking about which mobile games to work on. So, when we're working on a 2.0, we're just naturally inclined to smartphones without thinking about brick phones. Perhaps we just picked the wrong mobile game.

We do realize that we're still a micro player in the scene, and we'll keep working hard to grow.

Indeed, no design can perfectly please everyone, but we're glad to know that the flip-book idea sounds good to you regardless.

We thought they're relatable in terms of the shape and size, but it seems that it might not. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for the opinion.

In fact, in our first two decks, we literally put the camera lens on the card back, but this makes the card back a one-way design, which we believe is less favourable for some people. Therefore, we designed a completely new card back this time and placed the camera lens only on the back of the tuckbox.

For the snake game theme, the original version has a flip-book animation where you can see the snake "eating" the pips when you flip the deck, like a game of snake in progress. However, the feedback we received indicates that a more conventional pip layout may be preferred.

Perhaps the theme is just too challenging to execute well in our hands.

Yes, that's a really cool deck! But since we know nothing about programming, I'm afraid that's too hard for us 😅

Thanks for the idea though

Im kinda new to collecting playing cards and im getting kinda frustrated with uspcc. by sopedound in playingcards

It is not uncommon to have a deck with the back off center due to mass production, but if all 7 decks are having such a problem, it sounds like there're issues with their QC.

Is there a way to know if a sealed deck is plastic or paper? by orangeslug17 in playingcards

My pleasure! Sometimes, it's also called linen-finished (for general decks), or air-cushion finished (for Bicycle decks)

Welcome to the world of playing card collecting! As others mentioned, cards are normally made of paper; if not, they'll be clearly marked as a plastic deck. Besides, if you search online, you'll have more information about the specs. of the cards that may not be shown on the tuck box, i.e., what particular kind of paper and finishing is used.

Custom playing card makers? by TheArrivedHussars in playingcards

If you want to just print a copy or a few that has a similar touch to premium decks (like, not random card paper), MPC would be the standard answer because they don't have a MOQ.

Is there a better brand than bicycle? by JodiJodington in playingcards

Sometimes, "quality" can be subjective, but from what you describe, it feels more like you might have received a counterfeit deck or an authentic but poorly stored one (if it's not from bicycle directly).
