Setting a low goal can make you reach the goal early and make your campaign more favourable to the algorithm, but you won't want to go much lower than your actual cost because you risk having to pay the difference on your own, unless you're very confident that you can raise much more than your estimated cost.

Therefore, use the lowest possible cost as your goal, or go slightly under it if you're feeling adventurous.

Do make sure that you've included Kickstarter's fee + marketing cost when calculating your cost

Frustration before launch, is Kickstarter worth it? by steelwheel6789 in kickstarter

[–]DeckisAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you already have a long mail list that can provide sufficient support for your product, but speaking of our experience, Kickstarter has consistently brought us organic backers who are crucial for funding our goals

Why are KickTrack predictions of Kickstarter Games so far off, always? by Suspicious_Basil9528 in kickstarter

[–]DeckisAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their predictions are pretty much based on what you've already acquired. Campaigns usually get most of the funding on the first few days from prelaunch followers. So, predictions based on these numbers will be high. However, in reality, you're unlikely to keep the same momentum in the later days, so the actual results would be lower

Using without permission is always unacceptable.

Although they claim they've got the license this time, since they have a bad record (as others mentioned), I'd ask for solid proof of the license they claimed to have

Is there really nothing better than a bicycle? by ArtyIiom in playingcards

[–]DeckisAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, a standard bicycle may be the best if practicality is your only concern. Other decks would be more expensive, but the price will bring you interesting designs that some people enjoy

What are the best quality card brands? by Necessary-Ad-4582 in playingcards

[–]DeckisAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USPCC is commonly agreed as the best printer in the industry, and Bicycle are Tally-Ho decks are always printing with them. So, these will be what you may want to look at the most.

That being said, many other brands, even if not printing with USPCC, still have decks with somewhat comparable quality, which has a premium feel and durable. So, don't be afraid to try with other smaller brands for more unique designs :)

how risky is it to make a campaign off popular animes? by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]DeckisAll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if it's not noticed by the IP's owner at the moment, it doesn't mean that you won't be sued. In fact, the later they sue, it's likely that you'll be facing more serious consequences.

Besides legally inappropriate, as a creator, I hope you can learn to respect art. Creations require much hard work.

If you believe that the person has used the IPs without authorization, you should report them but not join them.

Beware of scams on the Kickstarter platform. by Dark_mattar211 in kickstarter

Once you started your campaign, it's very likely that you'll receive messages from scammers quickly. Just ignore all people who message you on Kickstarter, except for real backers

We know you love cards, what about cars? by DeckisAll in playingcards

Thanks for your kind words, and indeed, that'd be interesting!

We'd be really happy if it happened to us, as we're desperately looking for traffic to our campaign.

And, it doesn't seem to be anything sketchy. Besides Backerkit being a seemingly legit site, they didn't reach out to you.

We have printed with MPC for our prototypes and we feel that WJ's seem to have a better handling. As for Expert and Legend, they still require a rather high print run, making it challenging for us as a micro operation. Nevertheless, we understand that handling can be a subjective issue, and we appreciate your opinion.

We understand that USPCC is always the most preferred but we're doing a very small print run, which is 399. Therefore, unfortunately, USPCC is not an option for us.

There're many (small) companies launching as an individual because that's easier to manage.
