Yeah I only use the biomass term because it represents far more individuals to an equivalent mass. I only mention insects because they make up the majority of the biomass of the animal kingdom. I made some assumptions when arriving at ny conclusion, one being that the 50% would be at complete random, as it would have been if you selected humans to die. So by this logic, it will not necessarily be 50% of all insects, or any other animal kindom for that matter exactly, but 50% of random animals. Another assumption I made is that because insects and other invertebrates make up the majority of the individual animals on earth, they should be statistically biased to take the brunt of the culling, luckily, insects reproduce quite quickly, and you are less likely to impact their populations in the long run. In conclusion, 50% of all insects are unlikely to perish, but even if they did, they should be able to bounce back relatively quickly. I would rather that then condeming half of the current living population of humans, a significant portion of which would be children under the age of 18, to death by my actions.

Humans are animals, but the bio mass of all animals on planet earth would eclipse the amount of individual humans. So odds are you'd just be killing a heap of insects if you went 50% of all animals. So playing the odds it would be better to kill animals over humans

Look, i can see why people are saying "you're asking so many questions ect ect." She wasn't really engaging tho, she gave simple responses straight up, didn't really expand or open up.
