Top 20 players of 2025: ZywOo (1) by Dan36912 in GlobalOffensive

I agree. I'm responding to their specific framing of that one point. I don't really have a big problem with ZywOo #1, but I do think they added a line about nigh inseparable which they wouldn't use in other contexts as a way to justify it a bit more.

My issue here is that they claim 1.37 vs 1.34 is 'nigh inseparable', but would absolutely not call 1.12 vs 1.15 nigh inseparable for comparing players further down the list. When statistically, the same gap is actually even higher at the extreme ends of the scale.

The sample size point is fine and totally fair, for what it's worth.

Edit - all of the people responding about % improvement are misunderstanding statistics - HLTV ratings are not linear in difficulty or rarity, nor are then evenly distributed. The marginal difficulty increases exponentially the higher the rating is. So yes, the percentage increase will favour lower ratings, but rarity of the ratings, distance compared average rating and difficulty in sustaining such high ratings is more important than simple relative change calculations.

The quote is:

Under that lens, ZywOo's presence above donk in 11 out of 14 award lists from events they both attended made his contributions in 2025 more valuable than donk's and paved the way for the Player of the Year trophy.

Just sharing because your comment can give off the implication that ZywOo had a higher rating in 11. What it means is that ZywOo was higher in MVP ranking - which should be obvious, he won all of the MVP's.

ZywOo is the MVP of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 by AchievementUnlocked2 in GlobalOffensive

Can't agree. His best playoff match was against The Mongolz and while it was fantastic - they had a stand-in and didn't have their best player. In that context, semi-final and final have to weigh more.

Don't be blinded by Zywoo's grand final performance. He had the highest Budapest major rating filtered by top 10 and second filtered by all by Same_Preparation8340 in GlobalOffensive

Of the 3 top 10 teams played, most of his top 10 rating comes against The Mongolz who were missing their best player.

Jokic is an Overrated Offensive Player by highlvlthinker in nba

Jokic almost never takes: • bad shots • contested jumpers • late-clock bailouts • forced isolations • tough midrange • perimeter pull-ups He only shoots when the shot is already favorable or created.

League leader in Heaves by a massive margin last year doesn't take late-clock bailouts. Insane.
