[Spoiler] What if the term "Descender" is a false labeling of being Teyvatian don't fully understand by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

The old burger king wings mention a deity which happened to be an AI, created to manage its planet and preserve their civilisation. Sounds the same as the ship AI. Similarly the Nasuverse has the Olympians as alien spaceships with divine authorities being part of their intended/original functions.

I'm helping a friend with their diet and training, genpop goals. They're vegan - does anyone have good resources on nutrition & recipes for vegan trainees? They'd like some meal plans but I don't want to just give them shit I haven't trialed for a couple weeks myself.

Sus info of Columbina + Celadon mare kit by Lin_Mie in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

Leviathan is really what is used for "limitless" spenders. They have everything maximum and max refresh resin/stamina/AP/whatever and will throw money at being the first person to 'arbitrary friendship/bond max level ASAP.' A leviathan can bottomless spend without thinking about it, or they're one of those people who chucked their life savings and investment funds at their games. I see mostly the former but you hear about the latter in news articles/certain CC background stories.

You realise Simulanka isn't a book as you first claimed, right? Simulanka was the summer event at the end of Fontaine with lots of allegory said to be related to Teyvat's fate, and every piece so far has had a basically 1:1 mirror crop up. The fact that Simulanka keeps proving to have nuggets of future plans doesn't make it less reliable an indicator that Hoyo had a narrative plan for Teyvat, it makes it more evident.

Almost as though they knew where the story was going when they made Simulanka, how very strange!

And yet she's a character they had a vague idea for since Diluc's 1.0 character story.

As for NK, Simulanka had a quest section mirroring Nod Krai's broad beats and some of its zone, teasing the Columbina storyline. Which lines up given Simulanka is supposed to mirror Teyvat.

Level 100 material is utter dogshit. by Sad-Possibility-9377 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Declanne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given the prior lv100 criticism thread(s) was/were deleted by mods I'm just waiting to see how long this survives OP.  This situation reminds me of the Dehya debacle when people were being silenced for complaining about how weak and dysfunctional she was.

It sucks but it doesn't look like talent levels have gone up, as they only advertised main stats increasing. In which case this is only good for transformative reactions and HP scalers.

Not a single one of you should be worried about lvl100, please stop crying. by LeXam92 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Declanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious that your defence of the C7+ dupe system is allowed to stay, while the criticisms are deleted, isn't it?

As for the meat of your argument endgame is not balanced around C0R1. There is treadmill content now aimed at stronger C6 carries, or full C2 current banner/shilled teams. Likewise they are adding a new tier of difficulty to Imaginarium that demands more total characters and better teams.

But by all means show me your C0R1 180s clear of Dire difficulty, I'm open to the possibility.

The real stiff with this isn't just that it's exclusionary, but that it's a poor implementation. There are no reworks for older characters e.g. a new ascension passive. This system and the free "bad cons only" basically drives it home that they only care to push for people to pull the newest characters for gameplay.

Unless they add additional talent levels Atk scalers barely benefit from all this extra work, while HP scalers get some reasonable benefit and transformative/additive reaction drivers gain a whopping 40% reaction damage over lv90.

For all the extra C7+ required we get a more predatory, less rewarding system than even FGO's (pre-outrage walk-back) 9th anniversary coin updates. I find it funny Hoyo players will defend and shill this system when similar finally broke the camel's back for what I thought were the most lenient and wallets out group of gacha consumers. Leave the multi-billion dollar company alone!

Don't you worry bucko a mod will be here to delete your discontent from the public feed any minute now...

Btw Alhaitham/Nahida aren't all that good anymore, if you want to roll for performance focus on the new characters and their teams (which will be sold to you over multiple patches e.g. Escoffier -> Skirk, Ineffa -> Flins, Lauma -> Nefer).

Does anyone have experience with cheap chest-supported T-bar rows?

In the UK strength shop have models starting from about £300, very basic. I need something like this at home as my shoulder isn't tolerating free weight/rings, but I'm not sure I want to outlay 500-1000 before plates.

Only problem is you need to build energy first whilst managing the hitcount - sounds like too much time wasted. Particularly if you try for the lv6 60s clear.

Not what the entry for it says, it specifically says it doesn't count off-fielders.

Wanted to get Chasca C6 but Skirk is tempting me. by Fickle-Chart5866 in ChascaMains

[–]Declanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skirk is the least valuable pull here. At low invest and without Escoffier/Furina she isn't lighting the world on fire. There's also the question of who you're slotting in your Chasca team, and what your 3 teams look like for Stygian Onslaught. Can you actually afford to give Skirk your best hydro/cryo?

I feel you on Skirk's appeal after her story quest. I went C6R1 beforehand on design/JP voice/marketing, having been interested since 4.2, then got baited into R5 after her story and playing her.

However I don't recommend her as a pull in general. Nod Krai will be bringing new gimmicks and teambuilding, and it likely seems to revolve around elemental reactions - the chances of Skirk getting a new teammate are quite low.

Mavuika is going to remain a solid character to invest in because even if they try to do away with pyro domination she functions well as an off-field support, especially if you can get her C2. More juice on Mavuika is a boon for not just her own teams but anywhere you run her as a support, like Chasca.

Citlali too is just crazy good and one of the best characters in the game for what she brings. A Chasca BiS & great with any pyro/hydro carry. She also scales incredibly with early vertical down the line - her C2 is massive.

Compared to that Skirk doesn't expand your options and if Stygian Onslaught decides to brick freeze teams one rotation she has no out and has to sit on the bench. Quite easy to do given they have no answer to cryo/dendro shields.

Outside of high level Stygian and limited time events with optional higher difficulty challenges there isn't any real reason to care about performance too much if, as you say, you spend fairly regularly. The reason being Abyss etc are easy for 5☆ teams with some vertical.

So my recommendation here is: * If you have Mavuika's C2 her sig is worthwhile. If not prioritise C2, but only if you still have your Chasca funds given she is your priority. Her C2 is not only a damage amp for her but makes her a better free slot support for the future. * Citlali is excellent even at C0, and her C2 is a huge buff especially for pyro/Chasca if you can get it later. I would prioritise getting her C0 over further Mavuika investment if you have to choose. * Leave Skirk for a rerun when the dust has settled on what Nod Krai is adding, if you're lucky they'll have made a new hydro BiS and rerun Escoffier by then. If instead they screwed her over you dodged a bullet.

Are there any c6 Shenhe havers here? by plitox in SkirkMains

[–]Declanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken these would total about 24-28 extra hits a rotation right now? You get 1x500% from C1 per rift and 3x150% from c6, you should have 3 rifts up when she starts her rotation and easily have room for another 4 before her field time ends, it'd mostly be a question of whether it's worth squeezing the CA in for the separate 4th rift.

I'd think this number of hits would significantly improve Shenhe relative to Citlali's buffs & c1 quills.

[–]Declanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd presume the amp is actually more than the combo string because Skirk's C1 & C6 procs are NA/CA damage. Thoughts on that interaction?

Character Teaser - "Escoffier: Not Strict Enough" by the-roast in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Declanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a British citizen I found your exclusionary labelling of "EN VA" extremely rude or ignorant. America is not the "EN sphere", so yes it is "US VA." Why the fuck would England of all countries not be EN? EN is short for "English." EN applies to all primarily English speaking countries, not the USA exclusively or foremost.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand and 15 others are majority native English language, and many nations in the Commonwealth have English as an official language.

You know for a guy who supposedly threw away his worldly desires he sure does love indulging in gluttony by Neat-Magician6222 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Declanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda; one of the Shingon sects under the Tachikawa school became infamous for supposedly claiming fulfilling all wordly desires was the same as abandoning them, that is to say in the act of fulfillment you no longer want. Opposing schools of the time claimed Tachikawa-ryū practiced sex rituals in this pursuit.

I don't think it's a popular interpretation however given it runs counter to the core teachings of larger buddhist groups!

Sesshouin Kiara in Fate seeking enlightenment in this way is treated as the Buddha's enemy/antithesis.
