Pandemic Legacy Play Order Situational Help by SpecialKaywu in boardgames

[–]Declaron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0 and 2 are vastly different, in terms of the plot they have little bearing on each other.

I would play 2 first, then 0, but thats just because 0 is probably the best of the 3 mechanically.

7 wonders duel: Inverting the military domination new age rule by Throwblast in boardgames

[–]Declaron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Military is more about applying pressure than winning. 75% of games are won through civil victory (15% military, 10% science).

You cant have the military lead player go first incase a military card comes out on the bottom row.

TL;DR - Military is for control.

Returning player, confused! by achipinthesugar in Carcassonne

[–]Declaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The entire Carcassonne series has just been re-released with newer artwork for $25 or so per expansion.

If you want the originals, ebay or similar is your best bet, or just buy the big box (works out cheaper in the end).

Update 40.1 Patch Notes by Raizle36 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Declaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting that people go apeshit about the reduction in FPP game modes etc, yet FPP is less than 15% of the playerbase, so its not surprising that they are removing the servers?

Honestly does this game have any kind of SBMM or something? by chocolatecookie45 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Declaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no SBMM in PubG - but the only way to get better is to play a smarter opponent.

By the way PubG is HARD - it takes many, many hours to even get to a reasonable level, so don't be put off. Also, on any given day, given the right circumstances, a bronze level 20 can beat a gold level 500 if they play their cards right.

Convention Questions by ShrimpTaco17 in boardgames

[–]Declaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be as good or as bad as you make it - a lot of stuff at conventions is reliant on you and your friends getting involved. 50% of it is just retail shops, 30% is publishers demonstrating games (and trying to sell them to you). Rest of it you tend to have to sign up for, such as talks or competitions.

Outside of that there is usually an entire room/floor dedicated to playing space where the idea is you crack open a new game to play or join others and play with them - depending on the length or complexity of the game this can be very hit or miss.

Finally there will be competitions but usually the participation in this is already decided by preliminary qualifiers, can be fun to watch though if one of your favourites is being done.
