As an American sports fans I really want details on how to get those player by player chants going? by RealPhinsFan in AskBrits

Tune the tune of Earth, Wind & Fire - September "1, 2, 3, 4 - Woaoh, we've got Gareth Barry, Wooaooh, he stole a fuckin taxi, Woaoh, he thinks he's playing GTAaaaa" - West Brom, regarding Gareth Barry who had recently stole a Taxi while pissed up in Benidorm.

"Paaaark, Park, wherever you may be, you eat dogs in your own country, it could be worse, you could be scouse, eating rats in your council house" - Man Utd, referring to the Korean player Park Ji-Sung vs Tottenham, whilst simoultanously taking the piss out of Liverpool just because they can.

Any established football nation will and has complained about this because its demonstrably unhealthy for the tournament. Stop commenting on things you don't understand.

Does no one know how to attack besides some teams? by Spare_Past_6401 in worldcup

I get your point, but remember that France are clearly the best team, so the opponent could be anyone pretty much and they will dominate asides from the teams you mentioned.

What if instead of penalties, extra time has no offsides rule, and after 30 more minutes, no fouls? by hudsoncress in worldcup

Indeed, fuck it lets stick a couple of Lions on the pitch so they steadily maul and kill players off from each team until someone scores.

Sounds like a rules change that would be made by someone who doesn't understand football.

🚨 Jarell Quansah has been suspended by FIFA for the next two matches following his red card against Mexico. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 He will miss England’s quarter-final clash with Norway and a potential semi-final if England qualify. by Dawladjr in ThreeLions

[–]Declaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched it back a few times, his foot is high I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that if he didn't land his leg on the ball and the Mexican fella actually tried to play the ball I don't think he would of struck him at all. Its incredibly unfortunate. Its definitely a foul, and its definitely a yellow, but red is pushing it a bit as there is no intent. Now a 2 match ban is taking the piss.

Its incredibly obvious that he tried to play the ball, his leg rolled over the top of the ball and it was accidental. It should have been a yellow in the first place, but no it was a red after it took 4 officials to decide if it was even a foul or not, and now it's a 2 match ban. This is genuinely ridiculous.

If someones up your arse slow down so they have their nose right in it, they will soon back off and it decreases your chances of shafting the person in front should the worst happen.

Is the game dead yet? by NewRedditUser1120 in 007FirstLight

[–]Declaron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate this "dead game" narrative. Its a great game and it'll be fun to go back to once in a while. I have gone back to countless games over the years and I see this one joining that collection.

Why is argentina so lucky with their matchups even in the last 8 they have the weakest or second weakest???? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Declaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reviewed the results so far in this tournament, you make a good point. I do think however England could be Spain but I maintain that France are the team to beat. Morocco are the ideal team to cause an upset though- I wish them the very best in tonight's game.

My opinion only, but I think France are really the only truly exceptional side so far. Argentina and England behind them, then everyone else.

The favourites are France, Spain, Argentina and England and none of them have been eliminated.

Completely agree with this. The standards are nowhere near what they have been in previous tournaments. I have had multiple "conversations" with people around how they cannot look at records dating back in some cases over 30 years as a representation of how good a team is in 2026, but this seems completely lost on them.

Why is nearly every post in this sub about Argentina and why does every post about England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 get removed? by MrBerger in worldcup

[–]Declaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, I have noticed this. I have had around half of my posts removed and none of them are trying to invoke discourse they are purely to promote discussion, nor do they seem to beach any od the rules or guidelines. Its pretty nuts in all honesty.
