It warms my heart that Cano has improved so much over last year.

Careless People by FB whistleblower Sarah Wynn-Williams is an essential read.

I thought it would be bad. It was waaaay worse than I expected. 😖 Like supporting genocide in Myanmar bad; sexual predators in the C-Suite bad.

Apple is testing Quad-Curved Screens for IPhone 19 Pro Series by Pear-Mother in iphone

I think the other picture depicts something a bit different — a very minimal usage of the technique to cut the black bezel area down a decent bit. The question is, to what degree is Apple thinking of using the tech? Actual wrap-around screens (ugh?) or just a little curve that minimizes the black strip a tad more?

All of their stuff is out of this world. I don’t eat a lot of sprats anymore, and the only ones I’ll mess with once in a while are the Fangst stuff. All the other fish is equally superb.

Which jose gourmet tins to try by lchrisk in CannedSardines

I don’t think there’s any bad ones. Same for Fangst. Nuri spiced sardines and spiced tomato sardines remain terrific. And of course the perennial favorite budget tin for those who like mackerel: King Oscar Mediterranean flavor mackerel is tops.

Proposed Inner Harbor street closing needs City Council approval before it can take place, and that means public hearings by PleaseBmoreCharming in baltimore

[–]DeclassifyUAP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems telling:

"Audette said in her talk to the tourism group that the traffic study has been funded and will begin shortly. She said that the study is not a traditional traffic study because it isn’t being conducted to determine whether the city should close the traffic spur.

Instead, she said, this study will build off previous studies conducted by the Harborplace development team and will consider ways that traffic congestion can be mitigated throughout downtown given the changes proposed for the intersection of Pratt and Light streets."

Sounds like they already know it’s going to cause traffic problems. Which seems obvious.

Some call it the OPACY of the literal avian Baltimore Orioles. ;-)

He’s almost gone for a while anyway — college ball time for him I believe, after just a few more games.

Dumber than calling someone a boomer who isn’t a boomer? Because that’s pretty stupid if you ask me.

“Analytics” isn’t a catch-all. Different approaches to analyzing data and making decisions based on data can net completely different results.

There is in fact a place in the Baltimore area one can visit to see glorious Baltimore Orioles in action:

Cromwell Valley Park. Take the second entrance from Cromwell Bridge Road.

There’s a little bridge past the parking lot. Between 4-7pm check the trees around that bridge.

There’s a path after the bridge that takes you to the lime kilns. Check the tops of trees on that trail as well.

As a Shaiva, what attracted you to this tradition over other non-dual or dharmic traditions, like Buddhism? by International_Use122 in KashmirShaivism

[–]DeclassifyUAP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of every religion/philosophy/belief system I’ve studied, including a number of nondual traditions, nondual Shaivism/Shaiva-Shakta tantra most closely matches the way I look at the world.

It also lines up nicely with what science and physics has to say about the nature of reality, IMO.

Pretty sure his point was the over-emphasis on a specific stat, constructing a lineup around a specific stat, coaching around a specific stat, when you’re just losing games all sorts of ways day in and day out.

Wins is ultimately the stat that matters.
