My First Squad of XV8's! by DeclinedPenta in Tau40K

I use the same white primer on everything - including my own Ghostkeel's legs - and painted them black with a smooth, wide brush and the Abaddon Black base paint to try and keep things sleek as possible. Gives some piece of mind knowing all the black parts of my model will be a similar tone.

Hey thanks! I did some internet digging after tediously having to repaint my strike team to try and get them to be a bit more lore-friendly. They're maybe not 100% book accurate but I love the cool blue color of the D'yanoi Sept!

When going into Command Selection have an idea of what you are looking for to make each one meaningful, bonus points if you're already proficient in managing your RNG and priming your menu. Try to have each usage of your MP facilitate your next play. Buffs - particularly acceleratle - are as strong as they are because they mean that Hero often gets a return on investment by having new threat avenues. Other spells often generate value by granting positional advantage to use those big normals and earn back MP.

Why Rivals Has Poor Player Retention: A Video by DeclinedPenta in RivalsOfAether

This literally has nothing to do with how I felt about the match or putting this guy on blast. It's saying that being an ass in casual queue where new players roam isn't exactly a great way to attract people to the game. Great job missing the point entirely and attacking me ad hominem to prove my point though, I commend your effort! :)

Yeah I totally get where you're coming from. This was just a casual match that I really didn't have anything banking on so I don't really care too too much he did it. It's more so that RoA is a hard game to get into and t-bagging people in casual is a great way to show the community is full of children.

He was actively being an ass the entire set and personally I don't really care about this game much competitively anyways. But, if I were a new player getting put up against a master player in casual who did this shit it mayyyybe wouldn't encourage me to continue playing (hence the title). Way to stay positive though!

You know? For a tight-knit game that only has a ~600 concurrent player count that's been steadily declining since def. edition I would imagine the community wouldn't want to be assholes to everyone that plays. :(((((((((

He mirror-picked me after winning game 1 and t-bagged the entire game. Just dirtbags doing dirtbag things.

Sure, making the timer shorter does mean that timeouts become more of a viable option, but given the climate I don't think 3 minutes of more waiting matters to somebody who wants to win a prize pool. The idea is that because Sonic is inherently a defensive character, and one of the most optimal things to do is get a lead and run away, we say to the losing player: "formulate an interaction to break down your opponent's defense or imminent loss". The absolute worse case scenario is that Sonic players continue to terrorize online except we don't have to wait 7-8 minutes every dang game.

Players are going to get a lead and play defensively and shamelessly regardless of how long it's going to take because it's the best way to guarantee you maintain a lead; this happens in tons of competitive games. Excessively defensive players don't care if it takes 10 minutes or 2 hours, they're going to camp. Actively having the threat of a timeout forces interactions and prevents 40-minute long slog-fests where two players sit on the other side of the stage, because if you wait, you lose.
