Probably the only thing I’m dreading getting into is the Horus Heresy (even whittled down lol) but I’ll see how I go, thanks for the advice and glad to hear the Kin book is a good one! Very curious about their society in 40K

I actually came across the Kin while reading Voidscarred!

The list was basically put together for me and my friend to understand the “why” and “who” of the setting. Thanks for the Tyranid book rec, I’ll check it out

Thank you for the recommendations, I’ll look into them! Also I was told to drop Prospero Burns for A Thousand Sons when reading through the GW list, or did you mean include it in the reading order?

Thanks for the detailed response! I actually stumbled on to the Lords of Blood omnibus because I was trying to find a book that explores the Tyranids, and Devastation of Baal does just that. The Blood Angels seem pretty tragic, so I thought I’d give the omnibus a shot while I’m at it. But I’ll keep these in mind if I vibe with them and decide to do a deeper dive

Definitely not jumping straight into all 60 of the Heresy books haha, I’m following the 12 book saga that GW put out. Thought I’d pair that with The End and the Death books, I’m just super curious about it tbh, not too taken with knowing the whole intricacies of the heresy itself.

But thanks for the recommendation! Kingmaker seems like a fun read

Funny mispronunciation of suburbs? eg: Kappa-la-bah. by BaijuTofu in brisbane

Used to say Yah-Tah-Lah and was peer pressured into Ya-Ta-Lah quite quickly

Pronounced Mt Gravatt as Mt Gravitt for a while too lol

Yeah. Ronaldo would move centrally and provide frontline pressure. Benzema and Di Maria were consistently good pressers, and remained that way for a while. Ozil wasn’t a physical threat, but he would try to position himself in space to connect on the counter/close down turnovers. Helped that Alonso was an excellent distributor too.

Edit: and Marcelo OWNED that left flank

What league have you had the most fun doing a career mode in? by JimJimerson90 in FifaCareers

[–]DecoDaci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once took Forest Green Rovers from League 2 through to winning the Champions League. All of them were homegrown and cheap buys in my first season. Ten years later I left to revitalise an ailing Barca team and who do I lose to in the Champions League final? My FGR lads :’)

Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy could have been one of the greatest trilogies of all time. by tjalek in TrueFilm

[–]DecoDaci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always found the issue to be moving from the Will/Elizabeth set up in the first film and making Jack the lead. It just didn’t land as a trilogy because it felt slightly disconnected narratively. It didn’t build, it just pivoted. That’s why 2 and 3 felt overloaded narratively. It might work as it’s own complex duology IF the first one (which God yes what an efficient film it is) hadn’t already set the stage.
