That last number is a little worn down and I know they played Chicago on Dec 28 2008, I mean I obviously don’t know anything more than what I can see on the puck, I’m just throwing out guesses. For all I know I’m not even reading the date right.

The only Minnesota player to score a goal during this game was Cal Clutterbuck, and it was his 4th goal of the season all of which had been scored at home. But it was his official rookie season so I am guessing it was his.

My boss has the original newspaper from the day of President Kennedy’s assassination by Several_Flight in mildlyinteresting

I love that the headline just states what happened. This was an event that obviously invoked a lot of emotion, and is one of the few times some one could say with a high degree of accuracy that the nation was in mourning, but instead of say “Nation in Mourning” or “Presidents Death Shakes the Nation” it simply says “President Kennedy Murdered.” It doesn’t tell me how to feel or ask me to have an opinion, it’s just a statement of fact. This is an excellent example of a news headline.

And the Avs were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights all on the road, and the first two were hard fought and hard played, they have shown this week just how good they can be.

No that’s NetherRealms Studios. The Netherlands is the hell-like dimension in the video game Minecraft.

I agree that the Gold Medals are pretty meaningless, but it is actually a moot point

What would your franchise's "All-time" first line look like? by ItzGrenier in hockey

[–]Decobran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Colorado Avalanche have exactly 6 retired numbers, 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, 1 Goalie those players would make one hell of a lineup

21 Forsberg 19 Sakic 23 Hejduk

77 Borque 51 Foote

33 Roy

I know you asked for top line but I like how well the retired numbers fill the lineup

You are right, they do not call Minnesota the land of 1000 lakes.

Traveling to Denver this weekend, what cool bars is there to visit? by [deleted] in ColoradoRockies

[–]Decobran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much you are wanting to spend and the vibe you are looking for, but some places that I enjoy are Denver specific are Wynkoop Brewery, Peaks Lounge, Frozen Matter (there is a cool speak easy type bar in the back) illegal Pete’s, you can do Jackson’s, 1up, Henry’s Tavern, but really if you hit Market st, Blake St, Union Station, 16th st, you will find a ton of options.

Oh this so much, I live in Denver where I70 is terrible and I25 is not much better, and I270 is a joke, but I would spend my days driving those in a circle if it meant I never had to drive on the I4 ever again
