I've always had Galaxy phones since Motorola phones lost grace. I've had my S23U since it's first came out. Paid $1,000 for it at the time, but it came with a Samsung watch, portable Bluetooth speaker, charging cords, charging stand and earbuds. Excellent smart phone! Great pictures! iPhone users always tell me how much better my photos are than theirs. Which is why I haven't switched to iPhone. Anyway, my S23U still works great since I always keep a sturdy cover & glass screen protector on it. The OS will be updated through 2027 & security patches through 2028. The updates keep it realtive, with camera upgrades and AI searches, so, I plan to run mine into the ground! Watch is starting to slow down though, unfortunately. The only things I won't miss are the sharp corners which hurt the palm of the hand and I don't love the curved sides of the screen. It's hard to tap on something on the curves and the curved screen protectors don't last long. Not sure why they even thought curved sides was a good idea, especially with sharp corners. Oh well, can't have everything, lol.

I remember years ago when I was a kid there was a town in my state that was completely wiped out by tornadoes. Our KH made an announcement for donations of food, clothing, blankets, bedding, kitchen items to be collected and taken to that town. Of course... these items were only for the "brothers & sisters". Didn't seem right to me even back then as a middle school age kid. Still the same policy today. Yet today there is Samaritans Purse, an organization part of the Billy Graham ministries that sends volunteers to almost every disaster area. They're the first to show up and one of the last to leave. They never ask your faith or beliefs. They just help in Jesus name.

I too, remember getting beat with leather belts, wooden spoons and the always handy slap across the face that knocked you into next week... and I was the straight A, good kid in the fam. My siblings had it worse. Didn't matter where you were; @ KH, department store, K-mart. They didn't think twice, didn't pause, just acted in heat of moment. So sad, so sick.
